POV: They thought it was afterschool…we made a whole music video 🎬🔥

A beat, a vision, and a room full of creativity.

Clapping turned into choreography.
Ideas turned into scenes. And just like that…confidence showed up on camera.

Teachers right there—guiding, encouraging, and letting them lead.

Try it. Reset. Run it back. Get it right.

This is what happens when young people are given space to explore, discover, and be.

Not just afterschool.
A whole creative experience. ✨

Our Bold & Global Innovators are heading to the Black Family Wellness Expo this weekend at Medgar Evers College, and we are so excited! 💚

This will be a beautiful day focused on health, empowerment, culture, and community, and our scholars are looking forward to learning, connecting, and representing PS 287 with pride.

Experiences like this allow our students to step outside the classroom, engage with their community, and continue growing into the bold and globally minded leaders we know they are becoming.

If you’re in the area this weekend, we’d love to see you there! ✨

Grateful to & for recognizing and amplifying the Corn Cookout for the Culture 🌽✨

When media chooses to center stories rooted in culture, agriculture, and global connection, it affirms that this work matters.

Highlighting young scholars exploring the African diaspora through food, hands-on learning, and cultural tradition isn’t just a feature — it’s a statement. It says that Black history is living. It’s innovative. It’s worthy of visibility.

Thank you for valuing experiential education, honoring culture, and helping us tell a story that reflects brilliance, ownership, and possibility.

This is how narratives shift.
This is how excellence is normalized.

Corn Cookout for the Culture 🌽✨

Black history isn’t just something we read about — it’s something we experience.

From West Africa to the Caribbean to the American South, corn has been a global connector across the diaspora. A crop of survival. A crop of celebration. A symbol of innovation and resilience.

Our scholars didn’t just learn about it — they stepped into it.
Cooking culturally inspired corn dishes.
Crafting traditional corn husk dolls.
Turning history into something they could touch, taste, and create.

This is where agriculture meets culture and global brilliance is born.
Where seeds become stories and stories become strength.

Not just Black history — Black excellence. 🌍🌽
