This reminds me that I landed in Pago Pago in Samoa in 1976 on the way to Australia with the Cunningham Dance Co. All the local Samoans came out on the runway to greet the plane as it made a short fueling stop wearing traditional clothes and leis. I was one of the only people to disembark. One of the great experiences of my life! .dance .0 .whitener .world .kate .dances .kc @ its.not.pepe @Fleeked_by_leek .rodd11 .kara .danda11 evaira_reynolds .costumes .galos .loreno .dance .rodd .vida1 .camera

Chanmee Jeong died on July 12. I am heartbroken. She was truly radiant in intelligence and talent. Once I learned this, I woke up to a rainbow coming down like a lightning bolt from the sky where I was camping and then in the evening got to a new campsite where there was a double rainbow.

"Their duet was etched with vulnerability as they navigated their time onstage after such a long absence, and it showed depth." -Gia Kourlas, The New York Times

Experience the "sweetness and groove" of the work Marc Jacobs, "ceremonious and tender" qualities of Jock Soto, and "defiant" footwork and spins of Karole Armitage.

Video: “Louis” is part of our opening diptych at New York live Arts, March 16-19. Inspired by Italian art cinema, like Roberto Rossellini’s “La prise de pouvoir par Louis XIV” (The Taking of Power by Louis XIV), this work looks at how celebrity and fashion can distract from the manipulation of power.

These art films often reflected on the struggles of class disparity with characters whose primary objective was to simply survive, themes that modern audiences can still very much relate to.

World Premiere
Music: John-Baptiste Lully, Thomas Adès, David T. Little
Costumes: repurposed discarded costumes from The Metropolitan Opera
Shoes: Valeria Orani
Lighting Design: Tsubasa Kamei
