Meet Glen Marumoto. 👏
After retiring from his first career, Glen didn’t like the way he felt. He found running, which quickly replaced golf as his main hobby.
In 2016, Glen discovered NYRR and ran the New York City Marathon. It was his first time tackling 26.2 miles, and it wouldn’t be his last.
He has now run more than 200 marathons, running one in all 50 states TWICE. He’s the only known runner who’s run a marathon and golfed 18 holes in every state. He’s also one of only 20 runners in the world to have four Abbott World Marathon Majors Six Star Medals, and he’s working toward his fifth.
This year, he’s also working on completing NYRR’s 9+1 program, which he’s done twice before.
“There is no better feeling than getting that email from NYRR inviting you to register for the New York City Marathon with a guaranteed entry,” he says.
Glen admits that running has completely taken over his life (and his disposable income), but he has no complaints.
“Running is my current guide in my life’s journey. My marathons plan my life right now. NYRR is the catalyst that assists in that journey.”
