Yesterday, Fòs Feminista, our partners Instituto Odara, Nem Presa Nem Morta, Anis, CEPIA, and many other organizations joined hundreds of thousands of people in the Black Women's March for Reparations and Buen Vivir, held in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil. The daily work of our partners shows us that ensuring reproductive justice for Black women and girls around the world is central to repairing the damage caused by slavery and colonialism and to building a just world for all.

At the 2nd World Summit for Social Development, Member States adopted the Doha Declaration. But what does it really mean for gender equality and SRHRJ?

Our Global Advocacy Officers, Jen Rauch and Haya Solaiman, break down the key takeaways from Doha. The progress made, the critical gaps that remain, and why feminist advocacy is more essential than ever.

The Political Declaration recognizes gender equality and access to sexual and reproductive health, yet stops short of affirming sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and the diverse realities of families around the world.

Adopting a declaration by consensus is only the beginning, it’s political will and feminist movements that turn words into action.

From Doha: advancing feminist action for social development

At the Second World Summit for Social Development, Haya and Jen remind us that realizing sexual and reproductive health and rights for all women and girls is central to ending poverty and achieving gender equality.

When women and girls can make informed decisions about their bodies, they transform families, communities, and generations.

Fòs Feminista launches its 2024–2025 Annual Report: Building Bridges

Around the world, women, girls, and gender-diverse people continue to face barriers to their sexual and reproductive health and rights. Yet, every day, our alliance of more than 180 organizations across 35 countries is working to close these gaps, expanding access to care, transforming laws, and strengthening the feminist movement.

This year’s Annual Report highlights how we are building bridges between communities, movements, and institutions, to move from fragmented responses to comprehensive solutions rooted in care, equity, and feminist leadership.

Explore stories of resilience and innovation that show what’s possible when we connect across borders for justice.

Pleasure matters.

Yet too often, it’s dismissed in conversations about sexual health.
This , we’re reminding the world: pleasure, orientation, identity, and freedom from violence are all part of health, and they’re all human rights.

It's time to ensure pleasure is part of the discussion on health and education 🌟

🇲🇽 ✨ Progress in menstrual rights in Mexico!

The Mexico City Congress has approved a reform recognizing menstrual leave for students, allowing them to request excused absences for severe menstrual symptoms.
This step not only makes visible the reality faced by many students, but also paves the way for education and health policies that guarantee menstrual dignity and equal opportunities in access to education.

👉 A reminder that talking about menstruation in schools is also talking about rights, well-being, and justice.

What does it mean to make "care" a human right?

A groundbreaking ruling by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights sets a powerful new precedent. It means:

🔹 Recognizing that caring for others, receiving care, and self-care are fundamental rights.
🔹 Connecting care directly to sexual and reproductive health and rights.
🔹 Challenging the gender stereotype that forces women into unpaid care work.
🔹 Empowering states to create policies like equal paternity leave and community support networks.

This redefines care as a collective responsibility, paving the way for more equitable societies. What does this ruling mean to you? Let us know in the comments.

Abortion is healthcare, and abortion providers are human rights defenders. They ensure we can decide over our bodies safely and with dignity, often risking their own safety to care for others. Today, we honor them – leave a 💚 below to show your gratitude for their vital work.
