Dave Kopp
Since 1992, Kopp has been a regular performer at The Lafayette Theater, often providing pre-show music and live accompaniment for silent films, such as the 100th-anniversary screening of The Phantom of the Opera (1925) and Laurel & Hardy’s Sailors Beware. He is the former chairman of the New York Theatre Organ Society (NYTOS) and was instrumental in the 1991–1992 installation of the Ben Hall organ at the Lafayette Theater. His career includes performances at world-renowned locations, including Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, and Meadowlands Sports Complex.

Peter Baratta
Peter is a veteran theatre and church organist with over 40 years of experience in the Northern New Jersey and New York area. Baratta is also a skilled pipe organ service technician. He has maintained prestigious instruments at Radio City Music Hall (4/58 Wurlitzer), the Princeton University Chapel, and the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark. Peter Baratta holds a B.A. in Media Arts/Music from New Jersey City University. He also holds a Piano Tuning Diploma and a Church Music Certificate. His teachers have included Frank Cimmino, Ashley Miller, and George Wesner.

102 years young and still stealing the spotlight! Today marks the official 102 years that The Lafayette has been entertaining audiences. Happy Birthday Lafayette Theatre!!!

For more than a century, this beautiful landmark has been more than just a movie house — it has been a place where our community comes together. First dates, family traditions, Saturday matinees, live events, shared laughter, weddings and unforgettable stories have all unfolded beneath its iconic marquee.

Since opening its doors in 1924, The Lafayette has stood as a symbol of connection, nostalgia, and hometown pride. Generations have walked through these doors, and each one has left a little piece of history behind.

As we mark 102 years, we reaffirm our mission: to preserve the rich history of this treasured theatre while ensuring it remains a vibrant gathering place for our community for generations to come. Protecting its legacy isn’t just about saving a building — it’s about honoring the memories made here and creating new ones together.

Thank you to everyone who has supported, visited, worked here and believed in The Lafayette. The story is still being written — and we’re so grateful you’re part of it.
