Citymeals on Wheels provides a continuous lifeline of nourishing meals and vital companionship to New York City’s homebound elderly. Citymeals prepares and delivers weekend, holiday and emergency meals for nearly 22,000 of our vulnerable older neighbors. We have delivered over 72 million meals since our founding in 1981. Last year, Citymeals delivered 2.2 million meals. That's 10% more meals than

the previous fiscal year, in part due to new pilot programs. We also delivered over 255,942 pounds of fresh produce. Almost 17,000 volunteers gave 30,000 hours of service to our mission. Citymeals has set an ambitious goal to end elder hunger in New York City by 2040.

100% of all public donations will be used entirely for the preparation and delivery of meals, thanks to the generosity of our Board of Directors, the City of New York, sponsors and other designated gifts.

New York has waited a long time for this.

And some of the older New Yorkers we serve have been cheering every step of the way.

Today, we celebrate the team, the city and the fans who never stopped believing.

Congratulations, New York Knicks🧡💙

Who can afford to grow old in New York City?

👉 Today, 1 in 5 older New Yorkers lives in poverty, and many of the homebound older adults Citymeals serves are living on less than $15,000 a year.

As leaders work to make our city more affordable, older New Yorkers cannot be an afterthought.

When Deborah was born in 1923, New York looked very different. The Empire State Building hadn't been built. It was still common to see horse-drawn carriages on the streets. “There was nothing like meals on wheels available in those days," she recalls.

Deborah looks forward to that friendly knock on the door. “Like clockwork,” she says. “They’re really reliable.”

When you donate to Citymeals or sign up to volunteer with us during , you're supporting our lifeline of meals for older New Yorkers like Deborah. They aren't just part of our city's history: they're part of our present. 💙

Happy Mother’s Day! 🌻

Georgia’s journey to motherhood began at age 40 when she decided to have her daughter through IVF—a path that was far less common at the time. Reflecting on her experience, she notes, “There have always been women who raised children alone.” Georgia's daughter, an actress, lives in NYC, and the two see each other often.

At 85, Georgia recently had a stroke and started to receive home-delivered meals. “Citymeals has saved my life.”

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate all those who nurture, care for and uplift others — just as Georgia has done throughout her life.💙
