“Painting. Teacher. Friend. 1-hour bus. I love it. Bye.”

This is how Edip, a 20-year-old from Hatay, describes the rehabilitation center he attends every day.

With a 70% intellectual disability, Edip uses few words—but his joy says everything. Even after a one-hour bus ride, he shows up excited, ready to learn, connect, and express himself.

At our partner, ESYAD’s center, he finds more than crayons and coloring pages. He is supported by caregivers who encourage him, celebrate his efforts, and help him build confidence and independence.

Edip’s mother discovered the center through a social media post—and found a safe, supportive space for her son. Today, it’s part of a larger effort to provide psychosocial support, promote inclusion, and empower individuals with disabilities and their families.

In Edip’s words, it’s simple: a place where he belongs.

Thanks to your support of the TPF Turkiye Earthquake Fund, over $1M in grants have been provided for psychosocial and mental health programs—reaching more than 150,000 people in collaboration with dedicated local partners. Your support makes stories like Edip’s possible.

“What excites me about giving is being able to reach young people. You give them a bit of a spark, and all of a sudden, it catches fire.”

Meet Aysegul Ildeniz—tech leader, author, and a proud member of TPF’s Board. She is also one of the visionaries behind the TPF Summit, helping shape a platform that brings ideas, people, and purpose together.

Driven by a deep belief in the power of connection, Aysegul is passionate about engaging with young minds and creating spaces where inspiration can grow into action. Whether through her books, social media, or TPF events, she shares her journey to motivate and uplift the next generation.

For Aysegul, TPF is more than an organization—it’s family: focused, professional, and deeply caring. We are honored to have Aysegul as part of the TPF family and to share her story with you. Through voices like hers, we celebrate the resilience, generosity, and meaningful change that the TPF community fosters every day.

The needs of individuals with autism and their families don’t end with childhood. They are lifelong. And so is the need for meaningful opportunities, independence, and inclusion.

At TPF, we believe in a world where everyone has equal access to essential services and the chance to thrive. That’s why on June 13, we’re coming together once again for a bike ride to raise both awareness and critical funds to create employment opportunities for young adults with autism, helping turn potential into possibility.

Join us for the ride! Can’t make it? You can still be part of the impact—tap the link in bio to support. Every contribution helps open doors to opportunity.

Education doesn’t begin and end in the classroom. What happens beyond it plays a vital role in helping children truly thrive.

Creating space for children to explore their interests, express themselves, and build social and emotional skills is essential to their development and well-being.

At TPF, we believe in supporting the whole child. Through extracurricular activities, creative engagement, and social-emotional learning, children gain more than knowledge—they build confidence, discover their strengths, and develop resilience for life.

Join us for our Voices of Partners webinar featuring our partner organizations working to expand learning beyond traditional education:

🎤 Dilbeste Alameddine, PAYDA
🎤 Zeynep Nisan Günç, Güneşane Vakfı
🎤 Yakup Yıldırım, Öğretmen Ağı

Together, we’ll explore how creativity, exploration, and emotional well-being shape children’s growth and future.

We’ll also host a live Q&A—bring your questions!

This session will be in Turkish.

We are thrilled to announce the 2026 Sena Eken-Schieber Economics Award recipients:
🎓 Öykü Bulut – Yale University
🎓 İlbilge Acır – University of Chicago

Both are economics students at Koç University and will take the next step this fall, continuing their studies at leading institutions in the United States with the support of the Sena Eken-Schieber Economics Award.

Women remain significantly underrepresented in economics. In the United States, they account for roughly 36% of economists—lower than in any other social science, with gaps also visible at the highest levels of the profession.

Established by Dr. George Schieber in memory of his wife Sena Eken-Schieber, the award honors her values of compassion, perseverance, intellectual curiosity, and leadership in a traditionally male-dominated field. It supports exceptional young women in economics as they pursue advanced studies abroad. With Öykü and İlbilge, the program has now supported 21 female economists in continuing their education in the United States.

What lies ahead for Öykü and İlbilge is not just the next step, but a continuation of the questions they’ve already begun to explore, and the impact those questions may shape. Read more about İlbilge and Öykü—and the Sena Eken-Schieber Economics Award—on our website. 🔗 Link in bio!

On April 23, at The Times Center, we came together around a simple but important question: not just what we’re building, but how, why, and for whom.

Throughout the day, one thing became clear—progress on its own isn’t enough. It needs intention. It needs direction. And above all, it needs to stay human.

Across conversations on AI, health, technology, and creativity, a shared idea kept emerging: innovation isn’t neutral. It reflects the choices we make and the values we hold.

As so much of our world continues to evolve, the question of who benefits—and who gets left out—feels more urgent than ever. And yet, there was also a strong sense of possibility: that the future isn’t something that simply happens to us, but something we actively shape.

Even at the edge of innovation, human judgment, instinct, and resilience still matter most.

We are deeply grateful to our speakers for their contributions—not only for what they shared, but for how they showed up. They challenged us, engaged deeply, and reminded us that innovation carries responsibility. We are equally thankful to our volunteers for their support, and to everyone who contributed to this day with their presence, energy, and intention.
