JURIED OPEN CALL

TIGHTROPE: THE MID-TERM ITCH
Art, Satire & the Democratic Imagination

WhiteBox Portable @ MTA invites artists worldwide to respond to one of democracy’s oldest rituals—and newest spectacles.

We are seeking works that use satire, humor, irony, metaphor, caricature, and poetic imagination to illuminate what ideology often obscures.

Submission Deadline: September 15, 2026, 11:59 PM (ET).

Submission fees have been waived through the generosity of the WhiteBox Board of Directors and Friends of WhiteBox.

Read the complete Open Call and submit your work through the link in our bio or at www.whiteboxny.org.

Vote with your ballot. Speak with your art. Keep your sense of humor. Democracy needs it.
