Beth and K9 Kirby recently visited the HHS Lucas Building, bringing smiles, comfort, and a welcome break to staff throughout the day. Sometimes all it takes is a wagging tail and a few quiet moments to remind someone they’re supported.

CRC CARE Therapy Dogs in Action at the Principal Charity Classic!

CRC CARE Therapy Dog Lucy and her handler, Mary, recently spent time spreading smiles at the Principal Charity Classic in Des Moines, Iowa, a PGA TOUR Champions event dedicated to making a difference in the community.

Each year, the Principal Charity Classic positively impacts the lives of more than 130,000 youth through support of education and culture, financial security and stability, and health and wellness initiatives. Since 2008, the tournament has raised more than $73 million for local charities and community programs.

Lucy and Mary were honored to support the UnityPoint Health booth during the tournament, bringing comfort, connection, and plenty of smiles to attendees throughout the event.

Thank you to Mary and Lucy for representing CRC CARE so wonderfully, and to everyone who helps make the Principal Charity Classic such a meaningful and successful event!

Powerful moments of relief, connection, and support 💙🐾

Our CRC CARES teams had the privilege of spending time with Occupational Therapy students at Des Moines University—bringing comfort when it’s needed most. These visits are more than just moments…they’re meaningful reminders that no one has to carry stress alone.

We’d love to introduce one of our incredible CRC Cares therapy dog teams — Beth and Kirby from Iowa! 🐾💙

Recently, Beth and Kirby visited a local school, where they made a big impact on students and staff alike. From the moment they walked in, Kirby was all tail wags and gentle energy, bringing comfort, smiles, and a lot of joy to everyone he met.

Kirby does such a great job connecting with kids, meeting them right where they are and making each interaction feel special. Beth is right there beside him, making sure every visit runs smoothly and that both the students and Kirby feel safe and supported.

It’s easy to see the bond they share and the heart they bring to this work. We’re so proud of this amazing team and so grateful for the comfort and connection they bring to their community. 💙

Today we honor the four-legged heroes who have served beside our military members with loyalty, courage, and heart. 🐾🇺🇸

On National K9 Veterans Day, we remember the working dogs who protected lives, completed missions, and stood fearlessly beside their handlers. Their service, sacrifice, and dedication will never be forgotten.

Thank you to every K9 who served our country — past and present. You are heroes. ❤️🐕‍🦺
