The museum was established to preserve paranormal history with one of it's forefathers, Professor Dr. Hans Holzer, PhD and original Ghost Hunter. His combined techniques of utilizing science marrying the metaphysical field became known as The Holzer Method, along with other ground breaking investigative protocols. Dr. Holzer was the first to incorporate academics and scientific methods in conjunct
ion with mediumship as another vessel and tool for data. In the late 50's, famed Irish Medium Eileen Garret of The Eileen Garret Parapsychology Foundation in Manhattan, urged Hans to write his findings down and get them published! The first book of many was born in 1963, Ghost Hunter, was published. His body of work expands out into numerous areas such as ghosts, demons, possessions, grade A Hauntings, witches and the craft, UFO's, Fairies, Magic, Healing, Spirituality, Trans-Mediumship, Psychic Work, Historical Places and Famous Hauntings and more. Having been the first to appear on the first considered reality show on NBC's In Search Of hosted by Leonard Nimoy, broke television ground for the field. Appearing on hundreds of national and regional talk shows such as Joan Rivers, Johnny Carson, Regis and Kathy Lee, In the Thicke of the Night with host Alan Thicke, and having a radio show on Manhattan's WOR station with the late legendary host Joe Franklin, reached millions on the subject matter opening up the doors. Many of his spirit photographs from around the world are captured in his book called Psychic Photography: Threshold of a New Science in which he showcases life after death. The Monks of Wi******er Cathedral in England is among the top ghost photo's around today. He worked nearly a thousand cases but is most noted for investigating The Amityville Horror story with medium Ethel Johnson-Myers. He concluded the possession theory of Ronald 'Butch' Defeo and it was the first time the courts had a plea of such entered. He was the only one granted visits to Defeo for both prisons as he was moved twice. His extensive work in the scientific community blended well as he brought in the mediumship side working with many famed psychics and mediums such as Irish Medium Sybil Leek, England's Medium Philip Solomon and Manhattans Queen of the Psychics, Yolanda Bard, and celebrity psychic Ron Bard in Los Angeles to name just a few. Today, Dr. Holzer's work can be found in his over 145 books both in print, digital and audio. Continuing with his research and legacy is his daughter and her global group called 'The Hunt with Holzer.' His personal affects, files, letters, reel-to-reel footage, polaroids, slides, equipment, artifacts and rare video footage will be held at the Museum for preservation.
