On this day in 1774, a true trailblazer was born in New York City! 🗽✨
Elizabeth Ann Bayley—later known to the world as Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton—came into a changing pre-Revolutionary America. She would grow up to become a devoted wife, a loving mother, and eventually the very first native-born American to be canonized as a saint.
Her legacy shaped American education and charity forever, founding the first free Catholic school for girls in the U.S. and establishing the Sisters of Charity. From NYC socialite to a beacon of hope and faith, her life continues to inspire millions.
