Members, you may have received an email from the Department of Education telling you that the sexual harassment training must be done today. This was an error. You do NOT need to complete the training until school resumes and must be given sufficient time to complete it. Note that the sexual harassment training is required each school year. If you have any questions, you can call the UFT at 212‑331‑6311 from 9 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Monday through Friday.

As educators, we remember the past, celebrate the present, and continue working toward a more just and equitable future for all.

It’s 6 p.m. Do you know where your Tier 6 reform is?

That’s a question for Governor Kathy Hochul and the legislators voting on the budget in the coming weeks. We’ve made it clear: Tier 6 reform is nonnegotiable for our members.

Tag your state senator, assemblymember, Governor Hochul, Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie and Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins. Tell them to vote NO on any budget that doesn’t include meaningful Tier 6 reform.

Workers across the state are united — and we expect the officials we elected to do the right thing.
