Join us on Tuesday, October 6th in Fiji for "Pacific Wisdom for Global Ethical Stocktake." This pre-COP official side event will explore the Pacific’s role in driving ethically-grounded climate action, with a focus on the Global Ethical Stocktake (GES) initiative.

The program features Anote Tong, former President of Kiribati and current pro tempore leader of the Global Ethical Stocktake (GES), Reverend James Bhagwan of Pacific Conference of Churches, Dame Meg Taylor, former Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum, and Joeteshna Zenos, Pacific Climate Finance and Development Practitioner. Samira Siddique, director of strategic initiatives at Center for Earth Ethics, will moderate.

Established in 2025 under COP30 leadership, the GES invited youth, elders, Indigenous leaders, artists, philosophers, scientists and faith representatives to reflect on the deeper values that should guide climate responses. The Oceania Dialogue, one of six regional gatherings, centered Pacific voices, assessing climate progress through an ethical lens and offering a values-based complement to the Paris Agreement's Global Stocktake. As the GES develops, this event will present a moral vision for achieving 1.5°C.

Thanks to everyone who made “The Immorality of Inaction: Voicing Truth on Climate,” held last Friday, such an incredible success. Nearly 500 faith leaders, Indigenous leaders, community organizers, activists and advocates, students and teachers attended the convening and call-to-action, held in the lead up to NYC Climate Week 2026 and the annual meeting of the United Nations General Assembly.

“We’re gathered here today to see clearly and to voice truth,” said Karenna Gore, founder and executive director of the Center for Earth Ethics, in her welcome. Nobel Laureate and former Vice President Al Gore and Bishop William Barber II, president and senior lecturer at Repairers of the Breach and co-chair of the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for a Moral Revival, were the keynote speakers.

Join us on Friday, September 18, at the historic Riverside Church in New York City for “Immorality of Inaction: Voicing Truth on Climate.” This gathering will bring people together to give voice to what we know to be true about the catastrophic consequences of allowing the pillage and pollution of the Earth—and what we are called to do about it.

We have the scientific knowledge, technology and financial resources to decrease fossil fuel emissions, restore integrity, protect communities and prevent ecosystem collapse. Yet we don’t. In the face of shifting political winds and corporate profit-seeking, our systems have us ever more locked into a trajectory of self-destruction. The ones that suffer first and worst are the most vulnerable among us. We cannot be silent. Through speech, story and song, we will invigorate and empower a unified moral community voice. Let’s build the public pressure needed to move from a culture of denial and delay to one of decisive action.

During London Climate Week, join leaders from the Brazilian Government and the Global Ethical Stocktake (GES) network for the official launch of the International GES Initiative & Documentary World Premiere.

The launch event focuses on the intersection of ethics, social justice, and climate implementation. With the legacy of COP30 as its foundation, the Global Ethical Stocktake now serves as a continuous moral compass. By keeping the “global mutirão” spirit alive, the initiative ensures that the commitments reinforced in the past are translated into ethical action and effective implementation for the climate cycles to come.

The event will feature the first global screening of the feature-length documentary “A People’s Stocktake—A Story of the Global Ethical Stocktake” documenting the 2025 journey of listening diverse voices across six global regions.

Join the Center for Earth Ethics at UTS’s Burke Library for a dialogue and discussion co-moderated by CEE Executive Director Karenna Gore and Susan Bodnar, editor of “Unmoored Yet Unbroken.”

This new volume presents “a rich tapestry of global narratives highlighting the psychological impact of environmental changes.”

Contributing authors will join the conversation to explore the intricate relationship between humans and the natural world—and how protecting this relationship is vital for mental health and essential in fighting climate change.
