HAPPY INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE 2026!

As High-Level Week begins, New York becomes again the major hub for international diplomacy. Every UNGA session reminds us though that diplomacy is not only negotiated at tables, it is also built through cultural exchanges, dialogue and human connections. That intersection between culture and diplomacy is what marks UV4P's agenda for this 81st session. 💫

We will be part of numerous events and discussions around the themes of the future of multilateralism, peace and security, climate and leadership.

It was a delight to attend the commemoration of the opening of UNGA81 by the UN Symphony Orchestra at the magnificent Cathedral of St. John the Divine⛪️and we are beyond excited to announce that preparations for the 5th edition of Global Women in Music have now officially started‼️

On that note, 🎶 wishing a peaceful and fruitful session to all our artist ambassadors, partners and supporters, and to everyone who embodies and promotes the values of peace. May our shared commitment continue to inspire peace , strengthen our communities, and make a positive difference today and every day. ❤️

Looking forward to a constructive session!

WE ARE BACK and preparing for a new session of the United Nations General Assembly ! In this context we are proud to present the results of a very inspiring pilot initiative we've been part of over the last months: the Culture of Peace for Gender Equality Ambassadors Programme🕊️

Born from a parallel event marking 30 years of the Beijing Declaration during , this programme puts young women & youth leaders at the centre of peacebuilding — connecting UN Security Council Resolutions 1325 (Women, Peace and Security) & 2250 (Youth, Peace and Security) with action in their own communities.

For five months, the first cohort of Ambassadors has been building skills in human rights education, UN advocacy & community organising, mentored by experienced practitioners and women-led organisations.

We were delighted to contribute through the cultural diplomacy component — exploring how culture, creativity & the arts can be powerful instruments for dialogue, inclusion and social change.

The best is yet to come: their own initiatives, soon to be presented. We are particularly excited for the initiative by Nazira Azimi from Afghanistan 🇦🇫, featured in our Global Women in Music 2025 concert.

💫Stay tuned to see what's coming next !

The future of peace is not something we build FOR the next generation. It is something we build WITH them. 🌍

This week, our Peace Ambassadors cohort had the privilege of joining an inspiring EXPLORE Session led by Veronica Sabbag, Founder and President of United Voices 4 Peace.

Drawing on more than two decades of experience in diplomacy, peace, and security, Veronica shared the journey behind creating UV4P and the transformative role of cultural diplomacy in building more peaceful, inclusive, and connected societies.

As part of the Culture of Peace for Gender Equality (CoP4GE) Peace Ambassador Pilot Programme launched last June, these conversations continue to equip our ambassadors with the knowledge, inspiration, and tools to transform global commitments into meaningful local action.

A heartfelt thank you to Veronica Sabbag for sharing her experience, vision, and unwavering commitment to advancing peace through culture and dialogue.

Together, we continue building bridges and empowering youth for a more peaceful future.

CANNES 2026 IS A WRAP! 🎬

The Cannes Film Festival is also a space where essential debates take place about culture, the entertainment industry, the shape of our societies and world overall. We’re proud to have been part of these leading creative voices and grateful for every conversation and event we participated in.

Our mission was clear: to spread the message of Arts Diplomacy and amplify our achievements and in particular through our "Global Women in Music" initiative.

For years, music’s role in film festivals was overlooked and we’re proud to have advocated for music as a key component of film and for a more equal, participatory, and interdisciplinary entertainment industry shaping our collective culture.

We achieved this notably through:

✅️ Panels on cultural diplomacy for Africa with l'Étoile d’Afrique’s "Summit on Narrative Sovereignty" at the Afronova Pavilion.
✅️ Participation in the World Women Foundation gatherings
✅️ Conversations at the Impact Lounge
✅️ Sessions on composers with the “Spot the Composers” & "La leçon de musique" initiative by Marché du Film & Sacem.

Film distribution for our award-winning documentary "Global Women in Music" was another key focus at the American Pavilion, and conversations are now following up. In that spirit, we’re proud to share that "Global Women in Music" has been named an official finalist at the Palermo International Film Festival 🏆. Finalist will be soon announced.

Last but not least, we were thrilled to meet our composer at artist residency, held in parallel to the festival at the sumptuous Château de Napoule.

🫵Stay tuned for what’s next ! 💯
