Staff and after school participants were instrumental in deciding on a theme that would encompass activities, performances and recreational trips surrounding visual, performance and creative arts. Performance events have become a major draw for parent and community participation in the center. The program design provides children, teens and young adults ages 5-21 with a strong artistic, academic a
nd healthy foundation in an exciting social environment. Throughout the year, participants are introduced to specialty curriculums that are educational and entertaining that will allow the participants to enjoy academic success, healthy lifestyles and good character and citizenship. Participation will allow members by way of the arts to enhance their educational skills, social behavior and emotional well-being. Members also participate in exciting trips that embody the program goals providing unique opportunities and experiences that members ordinarily are not exposed to. These trips are designed to enhance their exposure to outside experiences that will engage them and allow them to develop socially and emotionally while developing higher learning, a trade or skill that they enjoy. Focusing on academic and art specific exhibitions in dance, art, music and technology will allow participants to have a creative outlet while in the teen and afterschool program. Our hope is that participants will embark on a new career path as a result of early exposure to the arts.
