Repost:
At , we were honoured to receive Hon. Sunil Handunnetti, Minister of Industries of Sri Lanka, together with senior representatives of the National Gem & Jewellery Authority (NGJA) for an official laboratory visit and strategic consultation.
The delegation included:
• Dr. Chaminda - Chairman, NGJA
• Mohamed Nizamdeen Koyeldeen, Member of Municipal Council, Colombo
• Gunanda Handige Sunil Samarajeewa CFO

The visit included a comprehensive laboratory tour and high-level discussions focused on strengthening scientific standards, origin determination methodologies, regulatory alignment, and long-term institutional cooperation within the gemstone sector.

As global markets demand greater accountability and verifiable origin, science-led verification and traceability frameworks are becoming fundamental pillars of industry confidence and competitiveness.

At ICA GemLab, our commitment remains clear: advancing precision, transparency, and trust through applied gemological science, supporting sustainable growth across borders.

We appreciate the constructive engagement and shared vision for elevating Sri Lanka’s position within the global gemstone ecosystem.
