When looking at teachings from the past it is often the job of the practitioner to become somewhat of a translator and ask basic questions of the text or tradition they are engaged with. Questions such as “is this part of a larger historical conversation, what is the context of the teaching, what does this have to do with me, with the current time and how can this be applied?" These will be conversations which you are encouraged to join and participate in not simply sit back and listen. Each session will be led by Joshua and Jules and will include time for group discussions. Three consecutive Sundays starting December 3rd at 12pm EST and 6pm CET.
Our three topics are:
Savouring our Mortality: What can we learn from mentions of mortality in yogic texts and what lessons does that provide for todays yoga practitioners?
Perfectly Imperfect: Don’t let the pursuit of the perfect be a hinderance to the acceptance of the good.
Yogis in the World: Exploring the concept of Dharma and its pursuit.
All of the proceeds of this series will go to the Bhakti Recovery Group is an all-inclusive 12-Step/bhakti-oriented fellowship that brings together people who share their experience, strength, and hope, as it relates to finding freedom from various addictions and associated behaviors.
