Today, we want to express our sincere gratitude to Darya Melnyk, who dedicated her participation in the San Francisco Marathon to the children of Ukrainian Heroes.

Thanks to Darya’s determination and everyone who supported her fundraising campaign, we raised $2,016 for the Brave Children of Ukraine Foundation.

These funds will help provide children with the support they need to learn, grow, and move forward with confidence.

💜 Together, we turned compassion into real help.

We are happy to share that 6-year-old Anastasiia Konakh, a beneficiary of the Brave Children of Ukraine Foundation, has received financial support for the treatment and therapy she needs to continue growing, learning, and developing.

Anastasiia has autism and requires ongoing specialized care. Her father defended Ukraine from 2014 until he gave his life protecting his country. Today, we have the opportunity to stand by his daughter.

This support became possible thanks to our initiative, created together with Ukrainian artist Iolanta Pavliuk.

As part of the project, we raffled her artwork, Hope Through Darkness—a painting that symbolizes light, resilience, and hope. Every donation became real support for Anastasiia and her future.

🙏🏻 Thank you to everyone who donated, shared our campaign, and believed in this mission. Together, we proved that kindness can change a child's life.

🇺🇦Meet Our Founder & CEO: Mykola Melnyk Микола Мельник

Mykola Melnyk is a Ukrainian veteran, public leader, volunteer, writer, and publicist. A veteran of the Revolution of Dignity and the Russian-Ukrainian War, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a Company Commander in the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade. During the Zaporizhzhia counteroffensive, he was seriously wounded and lost his leg. For his courage and service, he was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky.

💬Mykola shares why this mission is so deeply personal to him:
"Before a battle that may be his last, every soldier promises his brothers-in-arms that if he survives, he will take care of the children of those who do not. Brave Children of Ukraine Foundation is, above all, a tribute to everyone who fought for Ukraine. When a soldier dies, it is not only a warrior we lose, but also a son, a brother, a husband, and a father. Our mission is to stand beside their children and give them the support, opportunities, and hope they deserve."

Микола Мельник — український ветеран, громадський діяч, волонтер, письменник і публіцист. Ветеран Революції Гідності та російсько-української війни, він проходив службу у Збройних Силах України на посаді командира роти 47-ї окремої механізованої бригади. Під час Запорізького контрнаступу Микола зазнав важкого поранення та втратив ногу. За мужність і службу він був нагороджений орденом Богдана Хмельницького.

Микола ділиться, чому ця місія є для нього настільки особистою:

💜 Matvii Yakovyshyn, 11 years old.

Matvii is an active and determined boy who loves sports. He enjoys staying active, challenging himself, and working hard toward his dreams.

His father, Nazar Yakovyshyn, faithfully served Ukraine as a sniper with the 3rd Border Guard Detachment. He courageously defended Ukraine on the front lines of the Donetsk region near the village of Vyimka and gave his life in 2024 while defending Ukraine and its people.🇺🇦

Today, the Brave Children of Ukraine Foundation stands beside Matvii, helping him continue to grow, learn, and pursue his dreams.

Матвій — активний і цілеспрямований хлопець, який захоплюється спортом. Він любить бути в русі, долати нові виклики та наполегливо працює, щоб здійснити свої мрії.

Його батько, Назар Яковишин, віддано служив Україні снайпером у складі 3-го прикордонного загону. Він мужньо захищав Україну на передовій Донеччини поблизу села Виїмка та віддав своє життя у 2024 році, захищаючи Україну й її народ.

🇺🇦Meet Our Board Member: Oleh Bonchynskyi

Oleh Bonchynskyi is a Veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian War and a Co-Founder of Brave Children of Ukraine. He served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine from 2014 to 2025, beginning his path of defending Ukraine during the Revolution of Dignity. He fought on multiple frontlines, including the key battles of Saur-Mohyla, Marinka, Pisky, and Avdiivka, where he was seriously wounded.

He was awarded the title of People's Hero of Ukraine, the Order "For Courage," the state award "For the Defense of Ukraine," the "Cross of the Brave," the Medal for the Defense of Avdiivka, and many other honors.

💬Oleh shares why this mission is so personal to him: "I fought alongside men who gave everything for Ukraine, including their lives. Most of the children supported by our Foundation are growing up without a father. We cannot change their loss, but we can stand beside them. Supporting the children of our fallen brothers-in-arms is our duty. They are the future of Ukraine, and through Brave Children, we are helping them build that future with hope, dignity, and new opportunities."

Знайомтеся: Олег Бончинський — член Ради фонду

Олег Бончинський — ветеран російсько-української війни та співзасновник фонду Brave Children of Ukraine. Він проходив службу у Збройних Силах України з 2014 по 2025 рік, розпочавши свій шлях захисника України під час Революції Гідності. Брав участь у бойових діях на багатьох напрямках, зокрема в ключових боях за Саур-Могилу, Мар'їнку, Піски та Авдіївку, де отримав тяжке поранення.

Більшість дітей, яких підтримує наш фонд, зростають без батька. Ми не можемо змінити цю втрату, але можемо бути поруч. Підтримка дітей наших загиблих побратимів — це наш обов'язок. Вони — майбутнє України, і через фонд Brave Children ми допомагаємо їм будувати це майбутнє з надією, гідністю та новими можливостями.»
