New to the BCN Library: Is Alternative Care on the Violence Against Children Agenda? A Review of Pledges Made at the 1st Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children

In 2024, 103 governments made commitments at the first Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children—but how strongly did those pledges address care reform? This review examines where alternative care, family strengthening, and family-based care feature within national strategies, identifying trends, gaps, and accountability mechanisms, and makes a clear case for positioning care reform as a core pillar in global efforts to end violence against children.
