🌱 growing gratitude 🌿

Our gratitude for our community has only grown as we continue to reflect on all of the people who showed up for us and for the park 🌿✨

This was our most successful gala yet- raising over 70% of our 2026 goal! It’s all thanks to YOU!

We’ve put the money to work right away- the Wildflower Hill was installed in May and new plants were planted this week! 🌼🌱 Our summer music series is a little less than a month out! 🎵💃🏽

We continue to look to you to support FBIP and our park - to help us do all we aspire to achieve. 🔗 it’s not too late to contribute (or too early to contribute again!!)

This year, Friends of Bushwick Inlet Park is proud to present the FBIP Award to Abel Bainnson Butz, LLP.

As the landscape architects behind the new parcel of Bushwick Inlet Park, their work helped transform a former industrial waterfront into a resilient public landscape that restores local ecology, expands waterfront access, and advances the vision of a continuous Bushwick Inlet Park.

We are honored to recognize their contributions at Park~Raiser 2026.

Join us for 🍄 Fungal Futures Pt. 2! Next Saturday May 30, 1:30PM @ Bushwick Inlet Park, 86 Kent Ave, BIP community room. We’ll be exploring fungi, wetland ecosystems, and the future of ecological restoration along NYC’s waterfronts. Together, we’ll learn more about mycelium, bioremediation, native marsh plants, and the long community struggle to reclaim and protect the waterfront. It will include hands-on planting of native _Spartina alterniflora_ marsh grass during low tide as part of an ongoing effort to rewild the Brooklyn shoreline and support local biodiversity. Expect sandy shoes and hands-on learning at the water’s edge 🌊🌾✨

The piano is back 🎹🦋

This year, 25 Sing for Hope pianos are spending three weeks outdoors in parks and public spaces across NYC, and we’re lucky to welcome another one to Bushwick Inlet Park.

This year’s piano, Monarchs and Milkweed by Christopher Spinelli feels especially fitting for the waterfront 🌿

Join us tomorrow for Weeding Wednesday, live piano, and a little monarch magic at the park 🌿🌸
