We loved talking with him about his history-making and award-winning comedy work, building Black Q***r visibility in Canada, and creating Black Q***r experiences on stage and TV.

Q***r State of Mind is live Saturday, 8/29, with an amazing special guest Brandon Ash-Mohammed at the table!

Brandon Ash Mohammed is taking over the comedy world and making his mark as a trailblazer🏳️‍🌈✊🏾

Brandon is a four-time Canadian Screen Award winner for his work as Head Writer on Canada’s Drag Race, and his debut album, Capricornication, was the first comedy album released by a gay, Black Canadian! The album also hit #1 on the iTunes Canada Comedy Charts.

And he’s a familiar face from the hit Crave/HBO series Heated Rivalry, where he played Kip’s friend Shawn.

We’ll be talking with him throughout the show about his experiences and what he’s up to now, so tune in tomorrow at 12 noon ET on Radio Free Brooklyn on the website or the RFB app.

The DOMS (Deron, Orie, Micah and Saidue) are back in action! Joining us are creatives/media extraordinaires/organizers of Butch Queen Hour (), Shaquille Romblay () and Shane Shakoor (), who are leading a movement dedicated to celebrating Black and Latinx q***r men through music, performance, and community. 

Romblay is an award-winning multidisciplinary creative whose work intersects Blackness, q***rness, music, and culture. A visual artist, DJ, and event curator, he has a visually compelling portfolio that has been featured in a range of outlets, including BuzzFeed, GQ, and Vogue.

Shakoor is a creative producer whose work centers on the abstract. With a career ranging from advertising to communications, he’s excelled at special projects like Nasdaq’s “Amplifying Black Voices” and beauty campaigns for brands like Armani, Victoria’s Secret, and Urban Jürgensen.
