Muslim Volunteers for New York (MV4NY) is a registered 501(c)(3) community based organization engaged in charitable and volunteer based initiatives in support of the Greater New York area. Established in early 2015, our mission is focused on engaging Muslim Americans along with the community at large in a variety of grassroot efforts to give back to our City and its residents. Our key areas of focus are: Health & Wellness, Education, the Environment, and Hunger & Poverty Elimination.

Exciting news!

MV4NY will be hosting its semi-annual Environmental Stewardship & Park Beautification Day at John Jay Park for the very first time. 🍁 This is in collaboration with Speaker Julie Menin NYC Parks and Partnerships for Parks

Thanks to the efforts and advocacy of MV4NY and all of you, Ruppert Park is undergoing construction and we hope to have a brand new and improved Ruppert Park in the future.

In the meantime, we will be working at John Jay Park on October 24th. Please save the date and join us to plant, paint and beautify John Jay Park.

Assembly Member Alex Bores and his Deputy Chief of Staff, Julie Roland, and Azhar of ICNA Relief NY partnered with Muslim Volunteers For New York to give away 72 school backpacks! Regent Brian Krist of the NY State Education Department (NY State Education Department ) also joined us for this wonderful community event. A huge shoutout to ICNA Relief for generously donating these backpacks! 👏👏

On Monday, August 31st, from 2 pm - 4 pm, ICNA Relief, Assembly Member Alex Bores and MV4NY are co-hosting a backpack giveaway. This event will be outside the District Office AM Alex Bores at 40th and Lexington Ave. We have 100 backpacks and it is first cm first served!

Together we serve those in need and bring cheer and excitement to children receiving them. Please come to take your backpack on Monday!

Muslim Volunteers For New York board members Mubeen and Sahar delivered 508 hygiene products to benefit women and children staying at Liberty House run by HousingPlus . Liberty House is home to women and children affected by incarceration and / or domestic violence and poverty.

A huge shout out to MV4NY supporter Sana Shuaib for her massive support of this project. Thank you to Tashauna and Danielle of Housing Plus for their help with coordinating receipt of the MV4NY donation.

Today, 28 amazing volunteers and supporters showed up to bag groceries for MV4NY’s “pack the produce” event (NYCP). On a busy Friday evening, our dedicated volunteers bagged 505 bags of groceries in an hour. Well done!! 👏 We are so proud of your passion and commitment! A huge shout out to Chris, Greg and Walter of NYCP for working diligently with our supporters and volunteers. Until next time…

MV4NY board members Sahar and Mubeen attended the annual celebration of green groups hosted by the NYC Partnership for Parks (PFP) at the Arsenal. Parks Commissioner Tricia Shimamura, Steve Simon and PFP Staff members Lexi and Raf were some of the keynote speakers. Speakers stressed the importance and invaluable work done by non profits and green groups in supporting sustainability of our urban green forest/city parks. Thank you Tricia for giving several shoutouts to Ruppert Park and the work done by MV4NY volunteers. It was lovely to engage and learn from different groups.

Yesterday, MV4NY held its semi-annual Park Beautification Event at Ruppert Park on a beautiful clear day. A mega thank you to almost 100 amazing volunteers that showed up to plant over 1100 plants, paint concrete surfaces and benches, mulch over an acre of field, make beautiful eco-friendly terrariums while enjoying refreshments  and music. The fabulous Urban Park Rangers were there to educate our volunteers on safeguarding flora and fauna.

A massive thank you to Sabeeha Rehman , Khalid Rehman, Malik Sarwar, Mehrukh Yousuf, members of the UES Dog Collective, and Rafael & Eleanor of Partnerships for Parks for all their support for this project. 🙏🌿🌷

Big shout out to for helping us transport plants from the Bronx Nursery to Ruppert Park today! Thanks Nick and Shaban for helping us during your work hours!
