Muslim Volunteers for New York (MV4NY) is a registered 501(c)(3) community based organization engaged in charitable and volunteer based initiatives in support of the Greater New York area. Established in early 2015, our mission is focused on engaging Muslim Americans along with the community at large in a variety of grassroot efforts to give back to our City and its residents. Our key areas of focus are: Health & Wellness, Education, the Environment, and Hunger & Poverty Elimination.

Today, 28 amazing volunteers and supporters showed up to bag groceries for MV4NY’s “pack the produce” event (NYCP). On a busy Friday evening, our dedicated volunteers bagged 505 bags of groceries in an hour. Well done!! 👏 We are so proud of your passion and commitment! A huge shout out to Chris, Greg and Walter of NYCP for working diligently with our supporters and volunteers. Until next time…

MV4NY board members Sahar and Mubeen attended the annual celebration of green groups hosted by the NYC Partnership for Parks (PFP) at the Arsenal. Parks Commissioner Tricia Shimamura, Steve Simon and PFP Staff members Lexi and Raf were some of the keynote speakers. Speakers stressed the importance and invaluable work done by non profits and green groups in supporting sustainability of our urban green forest/city parks. Thank you Tricia for giving several shoutouts to Ruppert Park and the work done by MV4NY volunteers. It was lovely to engage and learn from different groups.

Yesterday, MV4NY held its semi-annual Park Beautification Event at Ruppert Park on a beautiful clear day. A mega thank you to almost 100 amazing volunteers that showed up to plant over 1100 plants, paint concrete surfaces and benches, mulch over an acre of field, make beautiful eco-friendly terrariums while enjoying refreshments  and music. The fabulous Urban Park Rangers were there to educate our volunteers on safeguarding flora and fauna.

A massive thank you to Sabeeha Rehman , Khalid Rehman, Malik Sarwar, Mehrukh Yousuf, members of the UES Dog Collective, and Rafael & Eleanor of Partnerships for Parks for all their support for this project. 🙏🌿🌷

Amid an azure sky and a cool breeze, MV4NY hosted its annual Community Eid Event , a beautiful reception venue with panoramic views of the Long Island Sound. Event featured performance by a clown, face painting, henna station, live DJ plus a wide variety of cuisines from around the world.

On Tuesday, was delighted to welcome several elected officials and community leaders to their annual Eid Event in partnership with the Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal. We celebrated the cultural aspects of the holiday in Manhattan through colors, taste, sound and traditions. 

It was an honor to welcome CM Harvey Epstein, .nyc CM Gale Brewer,  Imam Saad Jallow, Imam Sheikh Ahmed Dewidar, Executive Director Vijay Ramjattan and Cheryl Zhang from the Department for the Prevention of Hate Crimes , Deputy Borough President Meisha Smith, District Director for AM Alex Bores Julie Roland, Mohammed Mohsin Awais from the Office of Letitia James, Members of Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom NYC Action Group, the Muslim Civic Table and Desi American Woman Network NYC Chapter, members of several Manhattan Community Boards, media personalities and leaders from various professions at this beautiful gathering.
