Monaco is famous for its wealth, and for good reason. According to Business Insider, nearly 33% of its residents are millionaires, and the country has zero poverty. Despite its reputation for lavish casinos, locals aren’t allowed to gamble—perhaps another reason for the nonexistent poverty rate.
However, the most striking fact about Monaco is its size. This billionaire haven on the French Riviera spans just 0.78 square miles, making it about 60% the size of Central Park. With space at such a premium, it’s no surprise that housing prices average around $4,500 per square foot.
