It takes a village to bring the Quadrille Ball to life. Behind the elegance of the evening stands an extraordinary community of volunteers who dedicate months, and often years, to sustaining this tradition.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the
Junior Committee, whose energy and commitment carry the spirit forward;
the Alumni Committee, who keep our network vibrant and connected;
the Benefit Council, whose leadership and generosity advance our fundraising mission;
the Ball Committee, who steward every detail with precision and care; and the Board Members of the German-American Scholarship Association, whose vision ensures that the Quadrille continues to strengthen our mission of friendship and transatlantic exchange.

The music may last one evening.
The work begins long before and continues long after.

To every volunteer who gives time, talent, and heart: thank you. The 65th Quadrille Ball was possible because of you.

Each year, our volunteer Quadrille dancers come from a remarkable range of fields; finance, law, academia, medicine, technology, the arts, public service, and beyond. What unites them is a shared commitment to tradition, community, and transatlantic friendship.

From October through February, they rehearse week after week, balancing demanding professional lives with evening practices, all in preparation for one extraordinary performance at the Quadrille Ball.

To our dancers: thank you for your time, your energy, and your heart. You are the living example of the German-American Scholarship Association’s mission, to bring together our cultures, our people, our practices and raise funds for scholarships!

This year, at the 65th Quadrille Ball, we proudly honored Mrs. Heide Herz, a cornerstone of the German-American Scholarship Association for more than four decades.

Since 1982, Heide has worn many hats: Ball Committee member and Chair, GSA Board member, and now Honorary Chair. Through every role, she has led with grace, wisdom, and unwavering loyalty.

And beyond the titles, she is the one who irons uniforms, organizes storage, mends gowns, and quietly ensures that everything, and everyone, is cared for.

Heide, thank you for always being there for us. This milestone is yours as much as it is ours.

Please join the in celebrating Mrs. Heide Herz.

We were honored to celebrate Paul Maley, CEO Deutsche Bank Trust Company Americas and Global Head of Trust and Securities Services, as Guest of Honor at the 65th Quadrille Ball at The Plaza, A Fairmont Managed Hotel on February 7. Thank you and Deutsche Bank for your support!

A true alumnus, Paul’s journey reflects the very spirit of the evening, from volunteer dancer, to co-organizer, to meeting his now wife Marisa Maley through the Quadrille. His moving remarks reminded us that the German-American Scholarship Association is not simply an organization, but a living community built on mentorship, opportunity, and enduring connection.

Paul continues to embody and support the mission of the GSA in its fullest meaning. We are grateful for his leadership, his generosity, and his unwavering commitment to transatlantic exchange.

Congratulations, Paul, and thank you for inspiring us all.

A well-worn suit is less about rules and more about intention.

Fit, proportion, and thoughtful details make all the difference. With the Quadrille Ball right around the corner, now’s the perfect time to make sure your suit fits properly, is freshly pressed, and ready for the evening ahead.

Presence is one of the greatest forms of respect.

In a world where we’re always reachable, modern etiquette means knowing when to put the phone away, when to text instead of call, and how to be fully present with the people in front of you.

Good etiquette keeps friendships comfortable.

When one person picks up the tab, paying them back promptly and clearly isn’t just polite, it shows respect and preserves trust. Whether it’s dinner, tickets, or shared plans, timing matters!
