Hey guys our own Paul Marcus is offering a course called Social Activism & The Print in the fall, here's the course description:
This course aims to raise social consciousness and the development of communication design skills while partnering with a Social Justice Organization. It examines the history and current issues of creative prints produced by artists/activists in the cause of social movements. Through direct student interaction with the SJO, the course will facilitate civic participation. Throughout history, printmaking has used imagery to define, transform, and promote political, social, and cultural agendas. In doing so, it has often required the artist to establish relationships with community and to encourage public participation to foster dialog, raise consciousness, and empower. Through an introduction to the printmaking medium, students will design, create, and print posters and circulars to disseminate information and T-shirts.

Hey y'all,
Sorry for the delay on starting things up. But we're up and running now. So! The Pratt Pressure Print Fair is officially on the 23rd of November. That's next weekend! We need to get things all figured out for that. Here's what we need from you!

If you're interested in selling prints please respond to us by this upcoming Monday November 18th by midnight. We're going to limit submissions to two editions per person and we can open it up to more if we have space later. We also will be meeting on Tuesday November 19th at 3pm in the printshop for all of those interested in selling. And we need to have the prints in our hands by Friday November 22 at 940 in the shop. No late submissions will be accepted!!!

Also we need volunteers. It's a general rule of thumb that if you are going to submit prints you must volunteer at least one hour of your time at the table. We also need people for set up and take down. This is a team effort!! If you have any questions, as always feel free to ask.
