Spotlight for today : Fooju Dance Collaborative.

Fooju Dance Collaborative is meant to frame the queerer qualities of existence by placing performative dance theatre outside the context of the proscenium; its purpose is to expressively and colorfully highlight the idiosyncrasies of the human experience. Fooju is the manipulation of visceral, incidental, or accidental creative impulses into dance that mimics the subconscious of dreams. We want to make the chimerical intimately real.

Check out their website https://foojudance.com and be sure to RSVP for tomorrow's showcase to see them live in action!

Our Thursday Spotlights for Sunday's \\If the Spirit Moves You// :

Natalia Barnatny Steinbach is a violinist, vocalist, composer, painter, and writer. Natalia's art and performance is about surviving devastation through the beauty of creation. She incorporates life experience into her music and works to inspire healing and light within herself and others. To listen to and see some of Natalia's work go to nataliasteinbach.com

Julie Hernandez is a visual artist who's favorite mediums are clay hand-building and sculpting, acrylic painting, and finally, micron and gel pen drawings. Her paintings along and drawings can be very surreal and even abstract. I paint unusual, unearthly creature/humans. Whether it's abstracting the human form, or creating a species from my imagination, to using vibrant colors and sparkly glitter and metallics. Julie also enjoys giving body and texture to my paintings to create dreamlike settings.
Her sculptures are very feminine and take on the morphing of a womyn's body. Her inspirations come from the delicate curves of real life women you see on a day to day basis. And the morphs take their course inspired by rare creatures and powerful spirits of the world.

Be sure to RSVP and come check out these awesome artists!
