Somerset Inclusive Nexus

Somerset Inclusive Nexus Run by parent carers to challenge & ensure equal access to opportunities, services and support.

Leading the group, formally known as Somerset Autism Awareness, was a young person on the spectrum with his family and friends following his footsteps to raise awareness for people with Autism Spectrum Condition. “Together we will tell the world.” Now it has evolved into Somerset Inclusive Nexus, a community of parent carers wanting to challenge and ensure equal access to opportunities, services a

nd support while encompassing inclusivity in the core of the group for all difficulties and disabilities, remembering the legacy of Somerset Autism Awareness, while striving to do more.

🤔 Are you a parent or carer of a young person or young adult. Are you aware of Mazza ??

🤔 What is it and how is it distributed

Mazza is sold online or on the streets and the target can be young people or vulnerable adults. It is a toxic chemical cocktail packaged in a small, brightly coloured liquid bottle.

It is readily sold as a v**e liquid or a ‘fake’ drink supplement to make it look trendy.

🤔 What does it do

Because it is an unregulated street drug it is frequently cut with other highly unpredictable substances causing:-

🗣️ severe confusion
🗣️ causes the body to overheat and disrupts the body’s ability to regulate temperature
🗣️ sickness
🗣️muscle spasms, seizures and loss of concentration

🤔What can you do

❗️ if you think a person is unwell due to taking Mazza seek immediate medical help by dialling 999.

❗️If you find similar looking containers please do not open them or inhale them but pass them over to the police.

❗️ contact the police or report via crimestoppers with as much detail as you can about the substance that has been taken and if possible where it has been obtained from.

🧢 As Street Pastors we enjoy working with and supporting our young people. We want everyone to stay safe.

“That’s not my education secretary,” said the little mouse. “Her priorities are too sponsored.”

“That’s not my education secretary. Her solutions are too Instagrammable.”

“That’s not my education secretary. Her SEND reforms are too invisible.”

“That’s not my education secretary. Her meetings contain too many influencers and not enough teachers.”

“That’s not my education secretary. Her statistics are too bendy.”

“That’s not my education secretary. Her empathy feels mass-produced.”

The little mouse went to the Department for Education.

There were ring lights.
There were media teams.
There was a camera crew following Gemma Collins down the corridor.

“Where are the parents?” asked the mouse.

“Busy filling in tribunal paperwork,” sighed the receptionist.

“Where are the teachers?” asked the mouse.

“Covering three classes and eating lunch over a photocopier,” whispered the office assistant.

“And where is the funding?” squeaked the mouse.

Everyone laughed for a very long time.

Then Gemma Collins arrived holding a branded tote bag and talking about “raising awareness.”

“Is this helping SEND families?” asked the mouse.

“No,” said the parents.
“No,” said the schools.
“No,” said the teaching assistants buying glue sticks with their own money.

But the cameras loved it.

“That’s definitely not my education secretary,” said the little mouse.
