📍 On January 17, the itrek DC Regional Chairs hosted a Zikaron BaSalon event, bringing together 25 attendees—including a prospective Georgetown itrek participant—for an evening of history, storytelling, and wine. 🍷 ✨

Rachel Lipman captivated the group with her grandfather’s Holocaust survival story and how, years later, he revived his family’s winemaking tradition by establishing Loew Vineyards in Maryland. She also shared insights into the winemaking process, balancing tastings with food pairings to create a truly immersive experience.

We’re grateful for the incredible turnout and the meaningful conversations that followed. Thank you to everyone who joined us—here’s to more events like this in the future! 🍇 💙

Each year, the itrek Academy brings together our phenomenal cohort of itrek Tour Educators to attend educational sessions and experiences, all aimed at advancing their skills as educators.

This year, the itrek Academy took place in the Galilee, where tour educators met with local leaders shaping the region’s tourism, heard firsthand accounts from residents and officials, and reflected on the region’s evolving dynamics. Over a meal with local hosts, they gained deeper insight into life in the Galilee today. The day concluded with a discussion about how to effectively present the story of Israel's northern front with upcoming Israel Treks, balancing personal narratives with the broader regional reality.

Today, we honor the life of Dr. King, whose legacy reminds us of the power of light and hope. As we reflect on this profound moment for our community—anticipating the safe return of the hostages from Gaza and hoping for peace in the days to come—may we continue to choose love over hate and light over darkness.

Over 200 passionate itrek Leaders, alumni, educators, supporters, partners, REALITY Advisory Board Members, and Team Members came together this past weekend at the beautiful Lake Lanier in Georgia. The energy was electric, fueled by optimism, camaraderie, and a deep sense of purpose as we set our sights on a hopeful season of Israel Treks.
The weekend was packed with incredible moments: a powerful panel with Dr. Rachel Fish and Col. (Ret.) Miri.Eisin, where they dove into the complexities of Israel Engagement in a Time of Conflict; a live podcast recording featuring Congressman RepRitchie; dynamic strategic communications sessions led by Alex Goldstein; and, of course, an epic party where we danced the night away.
More than just a gathering, this weekend was a celebration of our community's unwavering spirit, leaving us more inspired, and connected than ever. We’re grateful for the new friendships and the reinvigorated energy that will carry us forward into this next chapter.
