Malteser International and the Order of Malta strongly condemn Thursday’s attack on the Holy Family Catholic parish in Gaza — a refuge for displaced civilians and a hub for humanitarian aid.

Three people have been killed and at least nine were injured. We stand in full solidarity with Fr. Gabriel Romanelli, the parish priest, all those injured, and the families and loved ones mourning their loss. Attacks on civilians and places of worship are unacceptable violations of international humanitarian law.

Together with the Order of Malta and in collaboration with the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, we’ve delivered 220 tons of food to support over 25,000 people since May last year. A new health care center is also in planning.

We remain committed to protecting life and dignity in Gaza. 🕊️
