Yesterday, we were delighted to celebrate the 18th HAUS National Meeting in Heidelberg as part of the 30th anniversary of HD Alumni International . It was a special opportunity to bring together alumni and friends from across the United States and Canada in the city that connects us all.
A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful host, the HCA Heidelberg Center for American Studies (HCA), for welcoming us.
We were honored to hear welcome remarks from Prof. Dr. Welf Werner, Director of the HCA, Prof. Dr. Marc-Philippe Weller, Vice-Rector for International Affairs and Diversity at Universität Heidelberg, and Kathleen Lance, who concluded her tenure as HAUS President by passing the baton to our new President, Stephanie Cabell. Thank you, Kathleen, for your leadership, and congratulations, Stephanie!
One of the highlights of the meeting was hearing from three HAUS Scholarship recipients—Natalie, Hannah, and Eva—who shared their experiences of studying and living in Heidelberg. Their stories were a powerful reminder of the lasting impact of international exchange.
Since the launch of the HAUS scholarship program, more than 40 students from the United States have been able to study at Heidelberg University through the HAUS Study Scholarship and the HAUS Summer School Scholarship. These life-changing opportunities are made possible entirely through the generosity of our alumni and friends.
To everyone who has supported these scholarships over the years: thank you. Your commitment continues to open doors for future generations of Heidelberg students and strengthens the transatlantic exchange.

Thanks for coming to Heidelberg and for celebrating with us!
