Something new is beginning.

People 4 People Productions is working toward an ambitious goal: building an independent global youth media channel for public good—where young people investigate important issues, create original stories, and connect communities through meaningful media.

After years of teaching film media literacy, and youth storytelling in New York City, we are proud to officially launch the next chapter of our work through People 4 People Productions and the Own The Story® initiative.
Today, we are excited to unveil our newly redesigned website and online store — a platform built to support youth voice, cinematic storytelling, critical thinking, and the power of narrative in the digital age.
Rooted in Detroit history, Brooklyn community organizing, and decades of arts education, this new chapter represents more than a website launch. It is the beginning of a growing movement centered on media literacy, storytelling, democracy, and youth leadership.
Inside the new platform you’ll find:
• Our new documentary-inspired merchandise collection
• Youth-centered film and media literacy initiatives
• The Story Lab blog series
• The launch of Own The Story®
• New tools, projects, and future programming designed to help young people understand not only how stories are told — but who controls them
We believe images are never neutral.
We believe stories shape identity, culture, and democracy.
And we believe young people deserve the tools to tell their own stories.

Following a landmark shift in public and legal recognition of the intentional design of social media platforms to drive youth engagement and dependency, People 4 People Productions (P4PP) announces the national expansion of Own The Story® — A National Youth Narrative Power Movement.
For the first time, the system has been named. Courts and public reporting have confirmed what young people have long experienced: digital platforms are engineered to capture
attention, shape identity, and influence behavior at scale.
This is not just technology. This is influence—designed.

After deep reflection, I’ve made a decision.

Moving forward, People 4 People Productions will no longer use social media to share personal or community information in ways that can be extracted, tracked, and monetized by large tech platforms.

We believe our stories—especially those of our young people—deserve protection, dignity, and intention.

What we’re building requires something different.

Through OWN THE STORY®, our national initiative, we are working to confront the systems shaping youth identity, attention, and mental health—and to equip young people with the tools to understand and transform them.

This means shifting away from constant posting—and toward meaningful connection.
