“I spent most of my life training for a sport where the entire goal is to disappear.”

For ten years, Mandie Stanton trained in artistic swimming — a discipline built around precision, repetition and moving as one.

“The irony is that while the sport made me feel seen, it also taught me how to blend in.”

Alongside it, Mandie was always making: filming, photographing, studying animation and immersive design.

For a while, the two worlds seemed incompatible. Eventually, that tension became the work.

Through Hold Your Breath Media, Mandie brings artistic swimming together with underwater cinematography, performance and immersive technology.
