Does your map look different lately? ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Redistricting has changed the lines in Onslow County! Under North Carolina Senate Bill 249 (Session Law 2025-95), our county is now split between two U.S. Congressional Districts for the 2026 elections.

In the maps below:
๐ŸŸก The gold/yellow region represents the 3rd U.S. Congressional District.
๐ŸŸฃ The purple region represents the 1st U.S. Congressional District.

This split means different representation depending on where you live. Itโ€™s not just lines on paper: itโ€™s about your community's voice and ensuring you are heard. Staying informed is how we keep our community strong.

๐Ÿ“ฃ Attention first-time voters and youth:
โ€ข North Carolina residents can pre-register to vote at age 16.
โ€ข 17-year-olds are permitted to vote in primary elections if they will be 18 years old by the date of the general election.

Take action today:

โœ… Check your registration and find your current district by visiting Voter Search NC at: https://vt.ncsbe.gov/reglkup
โœ… Share this post with a neighbor so they stay informed too.

Together, we make sure our community's voice remains clear and powerful.

The lines have changed, but our collective voice remains the same!

Redistricting in Onslow County has shifted district boundaries, and it is vital that every neighbor knows exactly where they stand. "The Map" is more than just lines; itโ€™s our guide to representation and community power.

We are advocating for our County Commissioners to fund professional voter education and outreach. Every resident deserves clear information on their new districts and polling places to ensure no one is silenced.

To our younger generation leading the way, remember these essential facts:
- North Carolina residents can pre-register to vote at age 16.
- 17-year-olds are permitted to vote in primary elections if they will be 18 years old by the date of the general election.

Letโ€™s ensure every voice in Onslow is heard. Advocacy starts with being informed!

TAKE ACTION:
1. Contact your County Commissioners and urge them to fund comprehensive voter outreach.
2. Visit our website for Zoom access and more resources: www.onslownaacp.org
3. Share this post to help your friends and family find their place on the map.

Imagine if your water or power only worked half the time. ๐Ÿ”Œ

Democracy is an essential service, and voter education is the maintenance it needs to run smoothly. We're calling for the county funding necessary to keep the 'information lights' on for every voter in Onslow County.

An informed voter is a powerful voter. Letโ€™s make sure our civic infrastructure is as reliable as our utilities.

๐Ÿšจ MARK YOUR CALENDARS:
On Monday, June 15, at 6:00 PM, the Onslow County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the proposed budget. This is our moment to engage and advocate for voter education as a priority.

Can't attend? Written comments must be received by June 10th at 5:00 PM. You can email them to [email protected] or mail them to the County Administration office.

Take the first step in protecting our civic infrastructure. Visit our website at www.onslownaacp.org to learn how you can join our advocacy. Share this post and tag a neighbor to ensure every voice in Onslow County has the information they need to be heard.

Understanding the new Medicaid rules is vital for our community's health and stability. For Medicaid Mondays, we are highlighting the new 80-hour work requirement and, more importantly, who is exempt from it. It is crucial to know your status so you can maintain your coverage without interruption.

Exemptions from the new rules include:
- Seniors aged 65 and older
- Children
- Individuals with disabilities
- Pregnant individuals
- Caregivers

Stay informed and protect your access to healthcare. Visit our website for the full list of exemptions and detailed guidance: www.onslownaacp.org

As we look toward the future, we must also empower our youth to take charge of their civic duties. In North Carolina, residents can pre-register to vote at age 16. Additionally, 17-year-olds are permitted to vote in primary elections if they will be 18 years old by the date of the general election.

Take action today by checking your eligibility and ensuring your voice is heard at the polls. Your health and your vote are your power.
