We are pleased to share our participation in Venice, Italia, on April 26th at the Palazzo Pisani-Revedin, an initiative of the Centro Internazionale della Grafica- Venezia Viva. The event was opened by Samuel Sarkis Baghdassarian, Director of the Palazzo Pisani Revedin and Silvano Gosparini, founder and Director of the Centro Internazionale della Grafica; Lilli Olbi (Nicola Sene in art). BICOA is grateful to the organizers for the opportunity to present the following two projects coordinated by Monica Sarmiento Archer:

1. The international exhibition "Artist In-Formed 2025" with the special participation of the Fundación Estuardo Maldonado and the work of the artists Huang Xiang, William Rock, Estuardo Maldonado, Rocio Illanes Morales, Victoria Zhang, Shuangwen Zhao, Haifang Luo, and Monica Sarmiento-Archer Castillo.

Marzo 2025: BICOA forma parte de la celebración del 50 Aniversario, CENTRO DE ESTUDIOS ECUATORIANISTAS, Université Paris Nanterre, RAW.

Felicitaciones al Centro de Estudios Ecuatorianos de la Université Paris Nanterre, por la celebración de su 50 aniversario. Este evento contó con la presencia de:
Sra. Carole Brugeilles, Vicerrectora de Investigación de la Universidad París Nanterre
Su Excelencia el Embajador Efraín Baus Palacios, Delegado Permanente del Ecuador ante la UNESCO
María Grazzia Acosta, Encargado de Negocios de la Embajada de la República de Ecuador.

La apertura de este video se realiza con el saludo y el poema poemas de Rosalía Arteaga Serrano, seguidamente con los poemas de Ramiro Oviedo Andrés Santillán.

Para esta ocasión nuestra organización y la Fundación Estuardo Maldonado se sumó a esta celebración con una muestra de dibujos de Estuardo Maldonado, bajo la curaduría de nuestra directora ejecutiva, Monica Sarmiento-Archer quien compartió la conferencia sobre la obra y legado de Estuardo Maldonado.

Dentro de esta celebración tuvimos ocasión de compartir el reconocimiento a la excelencia profesional por parte the RAW: The Rosalía Arteaga The Glocal Women Foundation.

La entrega estuvo a cargo del Excelentisimo Embajador Efrain Baus Palacios, Delegado permanente ante la UNESCO, quien resaltó la importancia de tres destacados investigadores que han contribuido sobremanera a los estudios ecuatorianistas y que en esta ocasión recibieron el reconocimiento por su vida dedicada a contribuir a la cultura del Ecuador.

Entre ellos los académicos y arqueólogos:
Stéphen Rostain, director de investigación en el laboratorio Archéologie des Amériques, ArchAm CNRS, quien recibio el reconocimiento "Por su contribución a lo largo de su vida al conocimiento de la arqueología y la cultura de la región amazónica".
Pascal Mongne, investigador asociado al laboratorio Archéologie des Amériques, ArchAm CNRS y Arqueólogo Senior, afiliado al MAFBI.
Emmanuelle Sinardet por su labor como directora del Centro de Estudios Ecuatorianistas.
Nuevamente, felicitamos a todo el equipo que desarrolló un gran trabajo, a cada uno de los destacados conferencistas, quienes presentaron sus investigaciones.

La Universidad de París Nanterre fue la sede del "Encuentro Internacional de Creadores Iberoamericanos 2024", académicos y creadores se reunieron en la Universidad de Nanterre para dar a conocer sus investigaciones y actividades culturales.

La mesa estuvo coordinada por Emmanuelle Sinardet, profesora y Directora del Centro de Investigaciones Ibéricas e Iberoamericanas (CRIIA) - Centro de Estudios Ecuatorianos de la Universidad París Nanterre, Francia.

🎭 Invitados especiales:
Nos acompañarán los estudiantes de Legacy College Prep, dirigidos por la Dra. Mónica Sarmiento-Archer, en una demostración performativa sobre el uso de la poesía en el aula. Con el apoyo de Bi/Coa y la Estuardo Maldonado Foundation NY, se presentarán fragmentos de poesía precolombina en quechua, mixteco, zapoteco, náhuatl y guaraní. Además, en homenaje a Lila Zemborain y Giannina Braschi, se recitarán versos de sus obras incorporando tecnología. Será una oportunidad única para explorar la poesía como herramienta de expresión, creatividad e innovación en el aprendizaje colaborativo.

📌 Objetivos del panel:
Este panel busca reflexionar sobre el papel de la poesía en el aula como un espacio de creatividad, diálogo y aprendizaje transformador. A través de la experiencia de nuestras panelistas, exploraremos cómo la poesía performática fomenta la participación activa, la construcción de comunidad y el pensamiento crítico en contextos educativos. Discutiremos estrategias innovadoras para integrar la poesía en la enseñanza, enfatizando su potencial para fortalecer la expresión individual y colectiva de los estudiantes.
