In the photo, I'm selling my artwork at the National Conference on Dialogue and Deliberation. I've been involved in this organization since its inception when I graduated from The Carter School for Peace & Conflict Resolution Studies @ George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, with my first Master's Degree. I studied Conflict Analysis & Resolution with a personal interest and emphasis on learning how to help heal racism in this country. I also believe I am the first artist to introduce the concept of Graphic Notation. Since creating this concept and practicing this professionally at the very first NCDD conference, I have seen Graphic Notation become a big, legitimate, widely accepted field, with its own nuances of academic and professional training and education. Many sought-after Graphic Notators have emerged and are continuously emerging. Each artist who does Graphic Notation does it in their own way, just as I do it in mine. This art can enhance the buzzing conversations happening at conferences by adding new layers of information and understanding to the dialogue of the participants. At the most recent NCDD Conference in Atlanta, GA, I gratefully was able to share my book, "My Apology for Racism: A Love Letter to Heal the Racial Divide"(TM), and my special brand of "Art to Touch the Heart"(TM). I shipped my "Diversity Arts & Diversity Designs"(TM) mugs there, sold some, and gave away many mugs also.
