The Executive Committee of the East Timor and Indonesia Action Network-ETAN/U.S, along with ETAN’s network of activists and supporters, and with solidarity and human rights co-workers and friends throughout the world, grieves the loss of ETAN’s National Coordinator, John Miller. John was a co-founder of ETAN in 1991 and served on its staff from 1996 until his death in April, 2026. He was a tireless worker for justice and peace, committed to effective solidarity, and a friend and comrade to fellow activists throughout his life. We miss him every day. Please go to this link to read some of the many tributes to John that have been received from friends and colleague organizations:https://www.laohamutuk.org/solidarity/JMM%20tributes.pdf
ETAN’s Executive Committee is currently focused on how best to continue the many areas of work that John facilitated, and on discerning the best path forward for ETAN as an organization. We will keep our constituency informed as decisions are made.
As lutas continuam!
