Our no-kill Humane Society and SPCA is located in Waverly, NY. We primarily house dogs and cats while they wait to find their new adoptive families. We offer low-cost spay/neuter services to the public, free rabies vaccine clinics, a variety of dog training classes, and participate in humane education, and pet therapy programs. ๐‡๐š๐ฏ๐ž ๐š ๐ฉ๐ข๐œ๐ง๐ข๐œ ๐ญ๐š๐›๐ฅ๐ž ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎโ€™๐ซ๐ž ๐ง๐จ ๐ฅ๐จ๐ง๐ ๐ž๐ซ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ ? Weโ€™d love to give it a new home at Stray Haven! Weโ€™re working hard to create a welcoming outdoor space where adopters, visitors, volunteers, and our shelter pets can relax and spend time together.

๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿพ These gathering spots would give everyone a place to sit and get to know our shelter pups outside the kennel environment. This also helps with meet-and-greets between current dogs and potential new canine family members! The quiet space away from the kennels lets their personalities shine through.

๐Ÿ“Œ"I just wanted to give an update on DeeDee and how sheโ€™s settling in! Sheโ€™s doing amazing, very lovable and sweet! After the first day we saw her playfulness come out and she started playing with her other doggy friends! She loves to go with me to get my boys from school, and plays with them outside! Sheโ€™s doing great and weโ€™re so thankful to have her! She went to Tractor Supply to pick out her new toys, treats, dog bed and plenty of other things. She loves her little cow plushy! Even though she loves her bed, she still loves to sleep in our bed and snuggle! Weโ€™re very grateful to be DeeDeeโ€™s people! It means a lot to us!" ....

When cats are adopted, theyโ€™re not just moving into new houses; theyโ€™re moving into new worlds. It is normal for them to take time to adjust to different environments, unfamiliar scents, and new routines. ๐Ÿˆ Some cats might hide at first, act shy, or seem a little distant, while others might explore cautiously before fully settling in.

Patience is the key. Give your new cat quiet spaces, consistent routines, and gentle interactions. Let them come to you at their own pace. With some time, love, and understanding, your new feline family member will start to feel safe, confident, and right at home. ๐Ÿ

Thanks to the kindness of amazing donors, Redโ€™s adoption fee is completely covered, his year-round flea prevention is paid for, and all of his vaccinations for life will be covered, too! โค๏ธ

The only requirement is that his vaccinations be given through our Stray Haven SOS Clinic to qualify.

We are so grateful to these kind and giving donors for the opportunity it gives Red to start his next chapter with a little extra support. Now all he needs is a family to say, "He's coming home with us!" ๐Ÿก๐Ÿพ....

โ˜€๏ธ What a great week itโ€™s been so far! Many of our long-term residents found homes! But Red is still here, and heโ€™s still waiting. Today is Day 706 for him.

No worries, Stray Haven does not put a time limit on how long any pet can stay with us. They stay until they find a home that's just right for them. ๐Ÿ 

Red is a sweet, four-year-old boy. He's neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations. This pup is looking for a warm, welcoming home and people to love.....
๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ• Red's not a big fan of felines, and he can be choosy about his canine companions. When you think about it, arenโ€™t we all a little selective when it comes to our friends? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ If you have a dog and would like to add another to the family, let's arrange an introduction to see how everyone might get along.....

"We have officially had Pete for a whole year today. He's been such a great dog for us. He has come a long way. He doesn't have to be leashed outside anymore (unless we are on walks somewhere). He loves playing fetch with his ball, loves going on different adventures with us, gets excited when we go to grampa and grammas for the day, and has become such a good boy all the way around. โค๏ธ" M.P.
