We’re proud to share an update on our grant distribution supporting schools and youth programs impacted by the Palisades and Altadena fires.

We received an overwhelming number of applications, and after careful review, we are preparing to distribute $125,000 across ~21 schools and organizations, representing ~9,800 students.

Our allocation reflects student data from applicant organizations, ensuring funding is aligned with both scale of students served and severity of impact.

We prioritized:
• Schools with the greatest disruption
• Institutions serving the largest number of students
• Programs that support the broader education ecosystem

While our focus remains on K–12 schools, we also included a limited number of preschools and after-school programs to support younger students and community recovery.

Grant recipients will be announced soon.

This effort is about helping rebuild not just schools, but the communities around them.

Thank you to everyone who applied, supported, and continues to be part of this recovery.

Billions get raised after disasters.
Too often, communities are still waiting.

This carousel shares hard-earned lessons from disaster giving—what works, what fails, and why good intentions aren’t enough.

At Fashion Girls for Humanity, we fund people and schools directly, stay 100% volunteer-run, and focus on the phase most often ignored: after the cameras leave.

Thank you Vogue for covering LA’s recovery and for featuring Fashion Girls for Humanity and our founder . With the help of our extraordinary community, we’ve raised $150,000+ so far—funds that will be distributed directly to schools in Pacific Palisades and Altadena.
✨ Grant applications are now open (link in bio).

This May, we’ll host Pali–Altadena Collective at EMECO House—an exhibition of miniatures, dioramas, and memories: lost buildings, local architecture, personal stories, and a collective portrait of Malibu.
📍 Opening May 30 | Venice, CA

As part of the exhibition, schools and children will be invited to participate, and $5,000–$10,000 grants will be awarded directly to classrooms. We’re also proud to share that a temporary mobile home will be donated, underscoring the role of hands-on, community-led rebuilding.

The program will feature fire-prevention tools in miniature and public talks with Hitoshi Abe (UCLA) and Home for Humanity, alongside Momoyo Kaijima (ETH Zurich), exploring temporary and resilient architecture.

Deep gratitude to every sponsor, donor, school, and volunteer who made this possible. This is what rebuilding—together—looks like. 🤍
