Join your neighbors for our beloved Halloween Crawl through Mount Morris Park and Central Harlem!

Homes, buildings, and local businesses can register to be part of the Crawl.

Receive an official MMPCIA orange balloon for display (we deliver and tie it for you)

Want to lend a hand? We’re looking for volunteers to help deliver and tie balloons at participating homes before Halloween.

Email [email protected] with the subject line “Halloween Crawl Balloon Volunteer.”
Include your availability and location so we can match you with nearby houses.

Let’s make this a safe, fun, and community-filled Halloween for families across Mount Morris Park and Central Harlem.

Let’s Make Saturday a Harlem Family Reunion! Look Who’s Coming.

Join us this Saturday as we celebrate the National Register of Historic Places recognition of Marcus Garvey Park and the 50th Anniversary of the historic designation of the Mount Morris Park Fire Watch Tower!

NYC Parks Commissioner Tricia Shimamura will be with us, along with New York State representatives, elected officials, and reps from Manhattan Community Board 11, and Marcus Garvey Park Alliance.

We’ll hear from our past president Madlyn Stokley, daughter of Hilda Stokley, whose community leadership dates back to the 1960s, and Patrice Eaton, daughter of MMPCIA founder Patricia Pates Eaton.

This is particularly special as MMPCIA celebrates its 45th anniversary!

And look who’s performing! Craig Harris with a full hour of live jazz, Maria Freeman, Peace & Drum ~Community, the Marching Cobras of NY, and step dancers from Thurgood Marshall Academy. Zakiyyah Modeste aka Sista Zock will be our emcee!

We’ll have complimentary finger foods and refreshments.

Bring the family, call a neighbor you haven’t seen in a while, and come celebrate the park we’ve loved and cared for across generations.

For 45 years, the Mount Morris Park Community Improvement Association has brought neighbors together to preserve, strengthen and advocate for our community.
As we look ahead to our November election, we’re looking for neighbors who want to get involved including those interested in serving on the MMPCIA Board.
Come by tomorrow evening to meet the board, learn more about what we do, ask questions and find out how you can get involved.
And while we’re together, we’ll raise a glass to 45 years of MMPCIA.

Our friend trombonist/composer Craig Harris is leading a weekly residency in Harlem every Thursday from 7-8:15pm. The concert performances are inside the beautiful historic Mount Morris Ascension church sanctuary. Community tickets are only $15, with an early evening set. It’s a really warm, intimate community vibe. Hope to see you. Discount tickets at the door.

Last Sunday, MMPCIA had the distinct pleasure in joining Rev. Althelia Pond and the congregation of the historic Mt. Morris Ascension Presbyterian Church in a special 120th Anniversary Homecoming Sunday service. Our own Patrice Pates Eaton was a featured soloist. Senator Cordell Cleare presented a Proclamation. The Rev. Dr. Jerry L. Cannon delivered the morning’s sermon.

MMPCIA honors the leadership of Rev. Pond and the church’s long history of service to the Harlem community.
MMPCIA values the relationship we have and looks forward to many more years of collaboration to serve Harlem. 🤝🏾🙏🏾✨
