Today, DSI was at The Presbyterian Church in Jamaica, Queens, engaging community members at the church’s food pantry and encouraging them to make their voices heard during the ongoing People’s Money voting phase.

Participants were excited to learn about the process and enthusiastically cast their votes, showing the power of community participation and civic engagement. Every vote matters, and it was inspiring to see residents actively shaping decisions that impact their neighborhoods.

Voting has officially begun for The People’s Money! 🎉

We had an amazing time at the launch event yesterday, May 6th, in Queens Village. Community members came out to make their voices heard and help decide which projects should be implemented in their neighborhoods. Even passersby stopped by our table to fill out ballots and participate in the process.

The event was filled with music, snacks, drinks, and gift items for those who participated in the voting. Most importantly, it was a great opportunity for the community to come together and engage in shaping the future of our neighborhoods.

If you live in NYC and are 11 years or older, you can vote — regardless of your immigration status.

Keep an eye out for The People’s Money ballots and voting locations in your neighborhood, and make your voice count! 🗳️✨
