The New York City Master Chorale, under the direction of David J. Recca, presents This Love Between Us, a concert anchored by the titular work by Indian-American composer Reena Esmail, bringing together choir, Western orchestral instrumentalists, and celebrated Brooklyn Raga Massive players Neel Murgai (sitar) and Tripp Dudley (tabla). Through seven movements in English and modern and ancient Indian languages, Esmail explores themes of unity and kindness towards one another in seven major religious traditions in India: Buddhism, Sikhism, Christianity, Zoroastrianism, Hinduism, Jainism, and Islam. Completing the program will be Agnus Dei, an evocative work by Ukrainian composer Kuzina-Rozhdestvenska “in response to the start of the war in Ukraine and to honor the memory of its countless victims” with choir accompanied only by tubular bell.

We heard it’s choir girl summer, so the New York City Master Chorale (NYCMC) is presenting a “Summer Series” of musical and vocal technique workshops open to singers of all levels! ☀️🎶💜 Tickets are required and are on sale now via our website & the link in our bio!

Come join us on June 24 at AMDA for our inaugural session on IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet), an interactive, in-person workshop led by NYCMC singer Alex Resnick where you can learn more about IPA and how it can be leveraged to better sing or speak in any language. This workshop will be introductory but is open to all skill and familiarity levels of IPA and vocal techniques.

We are incredibly grateful for your support of our final 2025-2026 concert, Love Wins, an incredibly special collaboration with our friends, HALO Quartet! Thank you everyone at HALO and to Dr. Allyn Lloyd for your generous partnership and for co-creating such a meaningful, beautiful, and fun performance! ✨ We’re also appreciative of our whole NYCMC community for all of your enthusiasm and presence over the entirety of our 20th Anniversary Season. 💜 This milestone year represented our organization’s past, present, and future, including performances of classical choral masterpieces, dynamic new collaborations, and NYCMC commissions and premieres. By combining our performances with our community outreach and school partnership program, we are so proud to continue pursuing our mission and bringing people together through choral music while celebrating the city we call home. 🎵We could not do it without you. We’ll have more to share soon including other reflections on this year, news about summer programming, the dates for fall auditions, and more, so stay tuned and stay well, and thank you again! 🎉
