We are happy to announce that once again GOBL night will take place at Carnesecca Arena. Saint John’s, once again, will give us the three fan experiences that our program had last year. Benchwarmers, fan tunnel, and a halftime game. We will also have those same experiences for GOBL night at MSG. We will also be announcing one more game in conjunction with our GOBL schedule release. Tickets will go on sale later this month.

Taking a cue from today’s weather, here’s a friendly reminder that the registration window for the 2026–27 GOBL season is rapidly closing. LeagueApps will officially close on Monday at 11:59 PM. After that time, no additional registrations can be accepted.
Registration opened on April 27, giving families ample time to complete the process. Please take a moment this weekend to confirm that your child is registered. If you have not yet done so, we strongly encourage you to complete your registration to ensure your child is eligible to play this season.

We are proud to announce that GOBL Night will once again take place at Carnesecca Arena on Tuesday, December 8th. Last year’s event was one of the largest group nights for St. John’s, with 305 tickets sold, and we look forward to matching—or surpassing—that milestone this season.
For the second consecutive year, GOBL players will have the opportunity to participate in all three fan‑experience activities: the High Five Tunnel, the Benchwarmers experience, and the Halftime presentation.
Additionally, the league is working with St. John’s University to finalize two more events at Madison Square Garden—a Women’s Game and a Men’s Game. Further details on both events will be shared as they are confirmed.

Dear Parents, Coaches, and Players,
Welcome back to another year of the Greek Orthodox Basketball League. In fewer than 40 days, we will be tipping off an exciting new season, and we are grateful for the opportunity to continue offering this ministry to our community. Each year, our goal is to build upon the previous season and create an environment that is enjoyable, competitive, and enriching for all players.
Following the conclusion of last season the committee reconvened in April to begin planning for the year ahead. One of the major updates for the 2026–2027 season is the restructuring of the National Division. In past years, the National Division received two automatic playoff berths. Beginning this season, National Division teams will no longer receive automatic qualification into the GOBL Playoffs.
Instead, all National Division teams will compete throughout the regular season for the opportunity to advance to the Commissioner’s Cup, which will be held in April.
This change reflects our belief that grouping teams of similar skill levels creates a more competitive environment, improves the overall quality of play, and—most importantly—supports the growth of our players both as athletes and as Greek Orthodox Christians.
We look forward to this new chapter in the league’s development and to another outstanding season of basketball, fellowship, and sportsmanship.
