During NF Awareness Month, there’s no better time to spotlight the people who spread the word loud, proud, and pantless in a crowd. ❤️💙💚

Today, we’re bringing back **esThursday to showcase Cincinnati’s Team: I’m With Daphne.

Brandon and Kelley Zureick first joined Cupid’s Undie Run three years ago after their youngest daughter, Daphne, was diagnosed with NF1 within her first year of life. After Daphne was born, doctors discovered a minor congenital heart condition. During a conversation with a close friend who works as a genetic counselor at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, they were encouraged to pursue genetic testing because of the condition’s link to other genetic disorders, including NF.

“One day the phone rang, and the doctor told us that Daphne had Neurofibromatosis 1. While an early diagnosis can be quite startling as a parent, we are blessed to be able to provide ongoing monitoring and treatment.” Brandon says.

They knew immediately they wanted to get involved with Cupid’s Undie Run. When signing up for their very first event, Brandon created their team name, I’m With Daphne, fully intending to change it later. But the name stuck and over time became the perfect fit in its thoughtful simplicity.

Brandon tells us, “Coming together for a cause that is so important to our family is so wonderful.”

What began as a small group of brave friends has quickly grown into an annual tradition surrounded by incredible support from family and friends.

February may be over but that doesn’t mean our mission stops.

Today’s **es feature is a heartfelt reminder for why we party pantless. Let’s give all our love to Team Austin Blue Eyes Shark with Mommy Becky 💘

This team was first established in 2015 by Kevin and Becky Bell, NF was already a part of their family story. Becky had first been diagnosed with NF, and not long after, they learned their son Austin had it too. They let him choose the name, something fun, joyful, and completely his: Austin Blue Eyes Shark.

In 2018, Becky’s battle with NF took an unexpected turn, and she was taken from her family far too soon. After losing her, Kevin struggled deeply with her absence and chose to add “with Mommy Becky” to the team name as a way to love and remember her - Austin Blue Eyes Shark with Mommy Becky was born.

The team continued to rally around Kevin and Austin. Becky’s cousin, Sarah shares, “My first year running was 2019 after we lost her. She had always wanted me to join but I never got to run with her. Now every February I strip down and run for her and Austin, this is year 11! Cupid’s became more than an event; it became a promise we intended to keep.” Tragically, the heartbreak continued in 2024 when the team lost Kevin as well. Sarah didn’t let the promise end and instead picked up the torch to carry the team forward to continue the fight for Austin and their legacy.

To this St. Louis team, Cupid’s Undie Run means honoring the people they’ve loved and lost, standing beside the NF community, and refusing to let their stories fade.

Favorite Cupid’s Memory: 🏹🫶

“The 2025 run will always stand out as our favorite and most emotional. Race Directors Todd and Colin created a moment we’ll never forget by honoring Kevin and Becky with heartfelt words and by playing his favorite song, ‘Sweet Caroline.’ Perfectly capturing why we show up and why we’ll keep coming back year after year. Adding to that magic, another team donated their first-place medal to our team.”

Sorry to keep you **es lovers waiting! But trust us, this Cupid’s Undie Run mission moment is worth the wait.

This week we’re spreading all the love for Denver’s Team: Carter’s Clan 💘

This is their fifth year showing up for Cupid’s Undie Run. They started in 2022 with a few dear neighbors plus a sister and brother, simply dipping their toe into the rare disease community and not knowing what to expect from an Undie Run. A little shock. A little discomfort. A lot less clothing than expected. And now? It is one of their favorite days of the year.

Team captain and mom, Cristin Rhinehart tells us, “Carter is our NF hero and the most resilient little boy. This Clan continues to grow bigger and bolder to support him and us!”

Their sweet eight year old son was diagnosed with NF1 around 18 months old. At the time they had never heard of NF and after a few quiet years of acceptance, they stepped fully into the fight. Now they are on a mission to raise funds and awareness to find a cure for Carter and all impacted by NF. Carter handles everything in his life, including his diagnosis, with strength, grace, and the very best attitude.

He is their daily inspiration. NF brings a wide range of emotions and challenges, but seeing so many strong families come together, have a ton of fun, and raise a ton of money for a shared cause is nothing short of amazing.

Favorite Cupid’s Memory?:
“We have laughs and tears every year. Although we have a fun day, it is always emotional as we address and embrace this disease in our life and impacting our child. We love our Clan, that join us every year, and is our yearly pantless reunion with old neighbors! They make it sweeter and meaningful. It’s a great community, and they motivate us to keep spreading the word and convincing people to run in their un**es with us!!”
