In : the 'independent' civilian oversight board stills fails to stand up to NYPD's power -- with disastrous implications.

Take the case of , who was killed by NYPD Lt. Jonathan Rivera in 2019. More than 6 years, 2 mayors, and 7 police commissioners later, Rivera is still patrolling the streets, armed and dangerous -- despite fireable charges from the CCRB and a guilty verdict from the NYPD discipline judge. Jessica Tisch unjustifiably let Rivera walk with NO discipline last year -- for which JC and the Feliz family are suing.

“By letting a person like Jonathan Rivera walk, [Tisch] sent a message to all cops that they can racially profile, abuse, and kill New Yorkers with total impunity, and that they’re always going to be protected,” said Samy Feliz.

Two years ago today, 26-year-old was killed by NYPD Officers Elijah A. Chaer and Jefferson Bellevue while taking a walk in his neighborhood. Mr. Mayfield was struggling with mental health complexities. Officers tased Mr. Mayfield and shot him four times.

It's hard to believe that today marks 6 years since we've lost our dear ally and comrade, .

He was a dedicated organizer with Picture the Homeless and a genius on the grill.

If he were still here he would be with us in the streets, copwatching, leading chants, standing behind the families, and lobbying.

We still miss him. We send love to his family, especially his beautiful daughters Naima, Noni and Nikki. 🕊️

Why is a serially abusive cop still being protected?! ❌

Last week, y'all packed the court in support of the family of and JC as we SUED Jessica Tisch for her unjust & illegal decision to overturn her own deputy director's guilty verdict -- letting Lt. Jonathan Rivera keep his job despite a documented pattern of violence. Since killing unarmed father Allan Feliz in 2019, Rivera was promoted & racked up *40* misconduct allegations and seven lawsuits -- but he STILL has his badge and gun!

Lt. Rivera is so violent, he has *another* substantiated fireable misconduct charge -- so can & must fire him right NOW.

Zaiden was 4-months-old when his father, , was shot in front of him. He’s now 9, but he still hasn’t seen his father’s killer, NYPD Officer Wayne Isaacs, disciplined.

For the past decade, Officer Isaacs, his police union, and the NYPD have played every trick in the book to evade any and all accountability while Delrawn’s family grieves. Even though substantiated fireable charges against Isaacs back in 2020, Isaacs still hasn’t even faced a discipline trial. UNACCEPTABLE!
