Today we celebrate International Day of Peace 🕊️🌎 At YSP USA, we focus on three levels of peace to empower youth and foster thriving, resilient communities.

1️⃣ Peace within Myself: emphasizes self-awareness and aligning our actions with our values for lasting motivation 🧘‍♀️

2️⃣ Peace within Others: encourages empathy and understanding, helping youth connect with and support those around them 🫂

3️⃣ Peace within My Environment: teaches the power of making positive changes in our surroundings, whether at home or in our communities. Together, these levels of peace help build a foundation for a more peaceful and sustainable world ☮️

📣 Balkan International Youth Summit for Peace 2026 🇽🇰

Mitrovica is one of Europe’s most visibly divided cities, a river and a single bridge separate an Albanian-majority south from a Serb-majority north, a fault line still raw from the Balkan conflicts of the 1990s.

This October, 120 young leaders from 40+ countries cross that bridge, not just to talk about peace but to build it: three days of dialogue, labs and real solutions, ending together on the very line that once kept these communities apart.
• Cross-cultural nights
• High-level panels
• Hands-on labs where you design real answers

📍 Mitrovica, Kosova
🗓 1–4 October 2026
👥 Ages 15–35

August 12th was International Youth Day at the UN, and the Youth and AI Summit was organized by the International Organization of Youth (IOY) and the Major Group of Children and Youth (MGCY) 🇺🇳

This platform was for youth to discuss about AI governance, human rights, and how to handle the AI trust gap for the future of the workforce 💻

Our representative from Brazil, Leniva (.xx) gave an intervention on how AI is affecting her home country 🇧🇷

During UN Peacebuilding Week, IAYSP had the opportunity to represent youth voices at the Peace Circle held with Felipe Paullier 🇺🇳

John shared about the Balkan Summit and how the youth collaborated together for peace by organizing a forum that gathered politicians from various regions.

The Balkan International Youth Summit for Peace 2026 will be held in Mitrovica, Kosovo from October 1~4 based on the theme “Youth as Peace Practitioners, From Dialogue to Action”! More details to follow soon if you are interested in registering 🇽🇰
