https://friendsofnycnfp.org/join-our-community/ In 2016, we founded the Friends of New York City Nurse-Family Partnership (Friends of NYC NFP) as a separate 501(c)(3) organization to help NYC NFP fully realize its goals. Working side-by-side with nurses and staff, we offer financial resources and program enhancements that support first-time mothers living in poverty and

help their babies to flourish. Our generous donors make these programs possible, providing financial assistance so that moms can actualize the life- changing goals their nurses have helped them develop. As an independent nonprofit solely supporting NYC NFP, we are unique, and others in the U.S. are now exploring our model.

Meet Itsy Jestin, our Lead Parent Ambassador, whose breastfeeding journey transformed from a season of uncertainty into a passion for supporting other parents. 💙

In those early weeks postpartum, Itsy faced the pain, questions, and self-doubt that many new mothers experience. Through our support , she found education, community, and the confidence to continue her breastfeeding journey.

Inspired by the care she received, Itsy pursued breastfeeding education through the Heart’s Desire Award and is now dedicated to helping other families feel supported and empowered. Today, she is preparing to become a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor and continues to share her knowledge and encouragement with parents in her community.

We are honored to have Itsy as a Parent Ambassador and grateful for the wisdom, compassion, and lived experience she brings to our mission. 🌱
