Friends of Lisa’s Legacy,
April 13, 2022 marks the 10th anniversary of the passing of our sister Lisa, also daughter, aunt, friend and colleague to many. We still miss her every day, and we are dedicated to continuing her legacy of caring for sick children with Lisa’s Legacy, a 501-3c charity.
The Lisa M. Milonovich Scholarship for Nursing Education supports nursing education for qualified employees of Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, where Lisa worked for most of her career, as well as our high school alma mater, Bridgeport High School.
Lisa’s Legacy has provided scholarships for many years and we ask for your support to continue the work to which Lisa dedicated her life.

It’s hard to believe that it has been 9 years since we lost our sister, daughter, aunt, friend and colleague. Lisa was a powerhouse in the pediatric nursing field, well respected, always willing to teach others and utterly dedicated to the care of sick children. But more importantly, she was an amazing human being who gave of herself to her family and friends without a second thought. She always put others first. Her serious and stoic nature was balanced well with her wit and unique sense of humor. Those who had the privilege to know her well were familiar with her devious grin, which we miss terribly. She loved animals and particularly her dog and many cats over the years. She appreciated a good romantic comedy movie, but her all-time favorite was The Sound of Music. Lisa was an expert baker, able to make things look like the photo on the cookbook, and a gifted amateur photographer herself. For those who didn’t know her, that is a picture of the person.

But Lisa’s true passion was nursing, and to that end we would like to carry on her legacy through Lisa’s Legacy, the Lisa M. Milonovich Scholarship for Nursing Education. This 501-3c charity supports nursing education of employees of Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, the hospital where Lisa worked for many years, as well as graduating seniors from Bridgeport High School, our alma mater.
