Frederick Douglass Boulevard Alliance The FDB Alliance is a not-for-profit org committed to building a strong community, improving quality of life + maintaining a clean and safe boulevard.

The FDBA’s purpose are (1) to establish Frederick Douglas Boulevard as a Model Residential and Commercial Corridor in Northern Manhattan through community, public and private partnerships; (2) to promote Frederick Douglass Boulevard as the Gateway into Harlem and Restaurant Row; (3) to promote businesses on Frederick Douglass Boulevard through strategic marketing, activities and events; (4) to fos

ter alliances, civic participation, unity, collaboration and networks among residents, local businesses, community groups and associations, and individual community leaders; (5) to increase locally-owned, operated and/or managed businesses on Frederick Douglass Boulevard; (6) to build a better community, quality of life and positive environment for residents, families and businesses; and (7) to maintain Frederick Douglass Boulevard as a clean and safe boulevard for residents, visitors and workers to live, shop and work.

Each year, FDBA presents the C. Virginia Fields Award for Leadership and Community Service, named in honor of the iconic former Borough President, whose transformational leadership led to the rezoning of Frederick Douglass Boulevard, Harlem’s most vibrant residential and commercial corridor and restaurant row.
