Ahead of tomorrow’s Project Dream kickoff, we’re excited to introduce two of the people helping make this next chapter possible.

Meet Alyssa Duff, Program Coordinator, and Melissa Cooper, Student Success + Mentor Coordinator.

Together, they’ll help support our scholars, mentors, and programming throughout the cohort.

Tomorrow, we officially welcome our newest group of Project Dream scholars and kick off a new season of mentorship, learning, connection, and growth. 🎓

Stay tuned as we take you behind the scenes, introduce you to more of the people powering Project Dream, and share moments from this next cohort along the way.

This month, we had the pleasure of welcoming to speak with our scholars on something that doesn’t get talked about enough: mental health and emotional intelligence.

How to read yourself.
How to read a room.
How to make good decisions while protecting your peace.

Because showing up for your future starts with showing up for yourself.

Thank you, for pouring into our scholars this month. 💙

Students just taught us something about community support ⤵️

Last week, joined Mr. Nine and his 10th grade class at in the Bronx to present Project Dream. The students were buzzing about our workshop topics, our location, and yes... the catered food (shout out to 🌮!!)

But here’s what moved us most: At the end of the presentation, Mr. Nine and ICHS surprised us with a check. The funds were raised by students during a recent business competition, where they chose 10 organizations from around the city to advocate for and present to their school. They chose Scholar and a Dream.

Think about that. These students could have picked any organization. Instead, they saw the value in supporting first-gen and BIPOC students like themselves. One current Project Dream scholar even spoke to the class, sharing her two-year journey with the program.

• Students supporting students
• Community recognizing community
• Young people investing in each other’s futures

This is what grassroots support looks like. When the people you serve become advocates for your mission, you know you’re doing something right.

Some meetings open doors you didn’t even know were there.

sat down with EOP’s Director of Recruitment and the Executive Director of the SUNY Impact Foundation, and what came out of it is so exciting:

Project Dream scholars now have a direct pipeline to SUNY campuses, with 1-on-1 time with admissions offices at the schools they’re already dreaming about! 🎓

Scholar and a Dream is also in conversations to hit statewide Higher Ed conferences AND potentially head to the Capitol to talk directly with legislators about what’s happening in New York classrooms.

This is what showing up for students looks like, we appreciate you !!

More coming soon 👀

The work starts long before the first interview. 📝✨

Our recent workshop gave students the tools to build professional resumes from the ground up. We focused on highlighting individual strengths and tailoring documents for specific college and career opportunities.

Beyond the paper, we practiced the core skills required to lead in any environment:
- Active Communication
- Strategic Teamwork
- Adaptability and Time Management

These students are walking away with a polished blueprint for their future. They are ready to navigate internships and leadership roles with confidence.
