The Black Authors Festival is the place to be during the first weekend in August. Attendees from across the country are expected to once again turn out for the annual fundraiser.

The event will be held at the Breakwater Yacht Club in Sag Harbor for the newly expanded three-day festival, themed “The Power of Literacy.”

The esteemed honoree lineup includes Don Lemon, Sunny Hostin, Marc H. Morial, Alton White Fitzgerald, Harriette Cole, Kendis Gibson, Pamela McBride, Attika J. Torrence, Cheryl Wills, and youth author Amaryllis, Greene.

The festival will begin on Friday, Aug. 1, with a private VIP event at the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreation Center, the honoring ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Breakwater Yacht Club, and concluding on Sunday, Aug. 3, at the Sag Harbor Cinemas.

This year’s Festival is hosted by multi-Emmy-award winning journalist and PIX11 Anchor Arrianee LeBeau.

“The Black Authors Festival builds on the legacy of great Black writers and offers a unique glimpse into the minds of modern day writers who continue to build on the rich foundation of our ancestors. The weekend will be fun-filled and inspiring,” says Phil Andrews, founding president of 100 Black Men of Eastern New York, Inc. and President of the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc.
